Hello Ladies

I am currently on the hunt for a pair of tall leather boots and am stuck between the Coach Natale boots and the Stuart Weitzman 5050 boots.
I recently ordered the 5050 boots ( good deal thanks to tPF:D!), but we recently just got a 25% off card in the mail at home for Coach ( and the natale boots are already on sale =])

The 5050s will be my first pair of SWs, so I have no idea how they are in terms of quality, where as Ive been buying Coach shoes for years, and know they last.

Any advice on whether or not I should keep the SWs when they arrive or just get the coach natale boots? Are SWs worth it for the price?

TIA!

You'll quickly find out from a lot of us that Stuart Weitzman has exceptionally made boots and shoes and the 5050s are no exception.

Because they're stunning and perfect, the 5050s get my vote.

wow I feel alot better :smile1:
I was starting to feel bad spending that much on boots ( ive never even tried them on! It was impulsive. And Im still a poor college student lol:shrugs:

Out of curiosity do the boots scrunch when you put them on? Ive searched for pictures online, and on some people they looked really scrunched and others it didnt, does that just happen over time?

I LOVE the SW 5050 boots. The leather is incredibly soft and the boots just mold so perfectly to your legs. I think you will be very very pleased with the purchase and the boots will last you for many years.

I have owned Coach boots in the past and have found them to be very stiff. I am actually wearing a pair of Coach pumps today and am reminded about how uncomfortable they are on me. Luckily I don't walk around too much at work! :)

Enjoy your SW!!!

I also vote for the 5050s. I do not have a lot of scrunching with my 5050s...slight pooling around the ankles but that is it. They are extremely comfortable and beautiful!

Wow I didnt realize how popular SWs were! I feel much more confident in my decision, and I cant wait to get them!

CMM- This may be a silly question but is there a way to prevent the boots from pooling at the ankle?

I vote for the 50/50! I just got them a few weeks ago and love them to death. They do slightly pool around the ankle for me as well. I find that wearing thin socks and cropped leggings help the pooling problem. It doesn't bother me that much so I don't mind. They are such beautiful boots!

Nhu Nhu- Thin socks-I'll keep that in mind! so hopefully I wont have that problem :D

Thanks again ladies! I was kind of worried, especially since I didnt know how the boots were quality wise, but you all have definitely put my worries to rest!

I got my boots a few days ago and have been wearing them everywheree! I love the front, however, I am a bit weary abt the back. On top of that, a few of my friends said that the stretch fabric makes the boots look cheap:confused1:

I was a bit unsure abt them, but I didnt think they looked straight up cheap. Does anyone else think this too?

Also does anyone have any experience with the hammer boots? I heard that they are very similar to the 5050s, but have leather on the back?

I have not recieved mine yet but I saw a girl at the mall today wearing the MK version that I thought were the 5050s at first until I saw the silver zipper. I didn't think they looked cheap at all.
I posted a pic of the hammer boot on me (in the If you were to pic an OTK boot thread) as Nordies sent me them in a box marked 5050. Grrr...For me they ran a bit wide in the calf and ankle area so they bunched a little. I re-ordered the 5050 again and will wait to see which pair I like best.

I also just ordered these Cole Haans for comparison:

I just bought the Hammer boots from Nordstrom for $200 (saw them at Nordstrom Rack, called Nordstrom to PM). IMO, they are VERY similar to the 5050. They are not as snug because they don't have the stretchy fabric in the back, so you lose a little bit of the sleekness. But they are much less expensive and they are leather in the back almost all the way up. I have very very thin calves and ankles and they fit fine on me.

FYI, here are the links to the Hammer:

I called customer service and told them I saw them for $200 at the Nordstrom Rack by me and they PM'd. Great deal.
