Coach Rexy Bag Charm Unboxing! Not sure about it...does anyone have this same charm?

So I've wanted a Coach Rexy bag charm for many years, ever since seeing it on a talk show where they gave everybody in the audience a metal Rexy charm! Anyone happen to remember which talk show that was?

So I get a 30% off coupon and order it online along with 2 other items. This item got shipped first and I looked at the return address and it actually comes from a Coach Store in my city and not the warehouse where I'm guessing the other 2 items are coming from.

I was so excited to get the Rexy Bag Charm after so many years that I took pictures of the unboxing. Unlike the items from the warehouse, the keyring and clip were not covered in any foam protection. Also, the gold metal looks old, black, and tarnished in some places...you can see this especially on the body of Rexy in the last picture. So I'm thinking maybe this was a display piece in the store?

If anyone also has this same Rexy can you tell me if yours looks the same? I went back on the Coach Website to look and noticed the body looks black in the stock picture as well. So I'm not sure if this is normal?! If it's not normal, I'm not even sure how I can return this to a store since they didn't include the receipt?

Is that Style No. 29586 (with the small lightning bolt attached)? I think it looks lovely. I saw these in person and they all looked a bit black/tarnished; I think deep scratches would indicate if it was a floor item. I'm looking for a Rexy to pair with my 1941 Saddle bag (saddle/brass color) and thought this might work, especially since I use a small zip-around Signature wallet w/ lightning bolt when I use that bag, so they would match. I also like the green resin Rexy charm, but am concerned it will look childish.

Have you tried contacting Coach customer service? Maybe you can print out the shipping confirmation email and show that to the sales associate and let them know that you didn't receive an receipt?

They are supposed to look like that with the deep scratches and blackened parts. Distressed.

You should have received an email confirmation that told you it was your receipt. You can use that to return.

Yeah, if that is normal then it's fine as long as the distressing doesn't bother you. It's a lovely charm! Enjoy it.

I have the plain pewter one and it is a fun piece. I have not see the brass in person but the one I have does have dark areas as if tarnished and scratches (but may be from use- cannot remember what it looked like brand new). The imperfections and darkened metal give it character- I do not think you want a shiny all yellow brass metal look- I like the vintage patina.

I would keep it. Better to have it be distressed then you don’t notice any accrued damage.

I would think you could just wind the key ring off. Can you post a pic?

I always remove the split key rings from my dog leash clip charms. I think they’re distracting and get in the way lol

I take the round key ring off every time, because I use these as a charm and not an actual key fob.
I like this so much, the rainbow colors look great.

I just went into the Coach Store today and they were able to give me a refund after I showed them my Order Confirmation Email. I was about to exchange it for this Oil Slick Rexy, but then I noticed that it had a defective dog leash clip that didn't close all the way! The SA phoned around and all the other stores were also out of this Rexy!
