My cat woke me at 3 am this morning. She had climbed up on my computer desk. Something she has never done. She's an indoor cat. Shortly after that the whole house started to smell of skunk and it kept getting worse. I started getting nauseous and a headache. Couldn't get away from smell. I didn't get back to sleep. The smell was overwhelming. I went to work but had to leave because my work area started to smell skunky from my jacket. Then I sniffed my Coach backpack and it smells like skunk too. I went home, got another coat and came back to work. I keep getting whiffs of skunk smell from my Coach. I hope it dissapates.

No. I've had the bag for 3 weeks. The smell is from a skunk who sprayed too close to my house or is inside somewhere. It's bad. My Coach has a beautiful leather smell but now in a small area I smell skunk. The smell has permeated everything in the house.

you might need to call in the professionals....that is the worse smell ever!!!! Sorry friend

I've never gotten rid of skunk smell but I've gotten rid of other smells. It can take a long time, as in several months. There are many odor products you can try and also sit it outside in fresh air for long periods. I've used Febreze free-nature. Many people swear by the Bad Air Sponge. You can seal it in a bag with the sponge or bath salts or activated charcoal. I usually alternate between many treatments, maybe doing each step for a week or more.

Is it a new product? Some Coach items can be washed.

We live in a rural area and often get visits from skunks and other critters (even a mountain lion and a bobcat) we have had to deal with the skunk odor over the years, thankfully it dissipated within a reasonable amount of time. One sprayed in the carport which my computer desk looks out on, it was gone within a few days...very faint and then gone.
Good luck and hope it doesn't take too long to go away.

The smell has dissipated. My room has a very light smell. The bag smells like leather again. We got some Citrus Magic deodorizers. I hope the skunks decide to mate somewhere else. Animal Control told me its mating season.

I received a pebble messenger that was stretched out, poorly assembled, and had a strange smell to replace one with a turnlock that broke. I was able to get credit for it and put that towards a different bag ☺
