My experience at my store has been that you have to make a purchase in store, not necessarily a bag, a scarf or charm etc is ok. Others may have a difference experience so best check with your store. And of course, you need to sign up to be a Coach Insider (just do it on the Coach website) and you are limited to this two times a year and a max dollar ($125?) worth of embellishment each time.
I was able to bring a preloved bag in for coach create! Coach insiders get $125/year to go towards Create but my client services advisor let me combine two years’ worth—which was a good thing because it was $250+ for the embellishments!!
I did have to make a purchase and she suggested cleaner and protector! It cost about $30 for both.
It definitely depends on the store. The one I go to I do not need to make a purchase. I recently had a lightening bolt added to the strap of my Cassie and they embossed the hangtag. I did not purchase anything else or the bag originally from them.
Went last week to Yorkdale to use my annual 2 customizations…on my british tan vintage dinky (to cover up some water stains) and my well used vintage pocket purse. Now I have 3 customized purses that make my old bags feel new again. Thank you Coach and Kelly!
