There are a few reveals on the forum of this bag. I had the vintage version and it was huge! Do you see on the model how far it sticks out from her body? That was the main thing I didn't like about it. For me, the 2012 duffles work a lot better. But the classic duffle works for lots of people. It is also a black hole, literally. It isn't lined so the inside is black and deep, making it hard to see what's in there.

What I remember about those is that they weren't "crossbody bags." It has a shorter strap and doesn't really work that way. I am shorter and it stuck out too much. (Had an older version.) That is why I preferred the 2001 and 2012 models. They were slimmer in profile and you could wear crossbody if you had to. The classic versions had a beautiful, thick leather. The leather in the newer versions is not as thick. (Own a field and bag and shoulder bag in the newer classic leather.)
But it is still a great classic.

Whateve, do you know where about those reveals are on the forum? I have looked and looked for more info on this handbag and haven't had any luck. I was excited to read that you say they are here somewhere.

Thanks!

They are hard to find because people don't always use descriptive titles. I found this one: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach/classic-bag-but-new-bag-reveal-775861.html

Here are some other threads that refer to classic bags:

Hey that is my reveal :) I have both classic duffle and regular size legacy duffle from 2012. I like that the classic leather is lightweight and mushy. But at the same time that is what I don't like about it too. Lol. There is no lining so no zipper or cellphone pockets. There is just one thin leather pocket inside . I carry a water bottle with me at all times. Once in the summer I had a bottle with me and it sweated and left a light ring on the bag.
Legacy duffle from 2012 is more structured and can stand up on it own. Leather is thicker and it has lining. It also has a pocket on the outside. I love bags with pockets on the outside bc that where I like to keep my phone and keys for easy access.
Both bags get equal love but I prefer legacy over classic. I hope you find a new duffle that works for you!

If the black hole issue is problematic use brighter color wristlets to keep stuff organized and easy to grab. My 2012 large black duffle is this way. It's a big bag so I have to use lighter or brighter accessories to find stuff. I love it though and it's become my fav work bag.

I have that bag! It's not for everyone, but I love mine, and thanks to Whateve's suggestion I tried my fuschia duffle kit for the 2012 version with great success. My method of organizing all my bags is with Legacy clutches. You can't fit it in this duffle "right side up", it has to be zipped up and inserted lengthwise into the vintage duffle (will fit right side up in the 2012 duffle).

It works for me cross body but not spectacularly so. I'll get them out and do a quick comparison mod shot. Back in a few ;-)

Thank you SO much. You have helped me out a couple of times since I've joined this forum the last week. I just really want you to know how much I appreciate it.

Thanks :)

That would be amazing...thank you!

You are very welcome! Some very nice people helped me out on this forum when I was new. I'm passing it forward.

So, I really love duffles. This pic does not include all the versions, because I thought it would be best to show the most popular duffles and how they compare. For reference, I am almost 5'5", size 6, and this is how I dress 98% of the time, so you can see that duffles fit my lifestyle 😄

Mod pic, Left to right:

Rugby stripe duffle in pink/hibiscus. This is a made for factory ("MFF") bag, released in 2009. It's one of the sturdiest Coach bags I own, has gorgeous thick leather with the "Coach bag" smell from my misspent youth, is very comfortable and can be worn cross body or with the strap doubled. The base is oval and has "Coach" on the bottom. It's not printed, I'm trying to think of the word but you can see in the pics.

Vintage duffle in black (the one in your pic). This bag is huge, iconic, and you can find them on eBay and in consignment stores for a fraction of the price on Coach.com, AND in better leather. Mine was $65, I think? It required no rehab - just some LeatherCPR (find it at Tuesday morning for the best price. In my opinion it's better than the Apple conditioner, but that's just my opinion which, when combined with $8, will take you to Starbucks). The strap can't be doubled, but as you can see, it's not really a cross body bag - the strap is at the longest length here and it looks weird on me.

Bleecker duffle in bottle green, from the 2007-2008 anniversary collection. It's lined in tattersall fabric, has the oval bottom with "Coach" (can't think of the right word), is super ImageUploadedByPurseForum1395600999.081397.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1395601009.074500.jpgthick and gets better with age. The strap can be doubled, but it usually slips off my shoulder. A unique feature of this bag is the underside of the strap - it's kind of unfinished so it's rougher in texture. This is the regular size, not the large.

Legacy duffle from the 2012 release (with the fuschia duffle kit). This is the most versatile because it doesn't have the "duffle" bottom - it's rectangular at the base. Super comfortable, great leather, just all around easy bag to carry. The strap doubles, the inside lining is beige cloth, it's a workhorse bag.

Hope that helps!

I remember your reveal! It lit a fire under me to find one of these! You had an amazing find! 😍
