I don't remember ever seeing Coach Barbie but I love her outfit! Her bag and accessories look like 2012-13 to me, is that correct?

Does anyone here have one? I love the tiny hangtag and the dustbag! I wish that I had bought one when they were originally released. I read that they originally cost $95 at the Coach stores but they are asking $400 for one on Amazon right now!

I'll be the first to admit--I have this and I love it. I have never taken her out of the box. When I was a kid, Barbie was first introduced and I fell hard. I had so many outfits and accessories. It strikes me now that so many of the little catalogue illustrations for her fashions were very reminiscent of Bonnie Cashin's own artwork for Coach. When I saw a Coach Barbie I knew I was getting that, no matter what. Many sites were sold out at the time but I wound up getting her on the Mattel site. Worth every penny then.

I have one. I bought it on the Barbie website when it was released. I don't think the extra bags were for sale. There was a contest to decide which bag Barbie would carry.

Yes, there were actually 2 sets for sale that I know of. I would have bought the sets if I'd known about them soon enough. :hrmm:

Looks like someone just swapped the Barbie red purse (that she came with) out for the yellow one when listing for sale. The link to the article I posted earlier in the thread showed only one set and I don't recall a second set when this first came out.

They were on ebay when I saw the sets, but there were several of each set, more of the two duffle bags set than that of the yellow bag set......which is the one I wanted. After all this time I can't remember if they were sold or giveaways or if I ever even knew. ‍:confused1: I just remember that there were those two sets.

Found it. Yep, they were prizes for some kind of contest.

There were two sets. I can't swear as to if the one with the duffle bags had two in it or not.....but I think it did. I just remember that i didn't want that set, just the one that had the yellow bag in it.
