Has anyone else bought a new Coach bag only to find upon unwrapping random scratches or discolorations? I had bought a Tate Caryall 29 at first only to return it when I saw bent leather marks. The second bag I bought as a replacement was delivered with all of the packaging on, yet there were multiple dent marks in the leather upon unwrapping that the SA called defective. When I made an attempt at a third purchase in store (gave up on the Tate Caryall), I saw a small but very noticeable circular region where the leather was discoloured and scratched. At this point, I don’t know if this is just coincidence or if anyone else is dealing with this as well…

I'm sorry for your situation. I've been there & its super frustrating.
I bought & returned a couple Tate bags when they were first released. I returned mainly because the size didn't work for me but mine also had imperfections in the leather. I believe others has similar situations with the Tate. Not sure why on this bag than others but I do know it's not just you.
Doubt this helps much but at least wanted you to know that your are not isolated situations.

I just bought a full price past season Rogue 25 from Dillard's. It arrived with the wrong dust bag, scuffed feet, terrible stitching along the zipper (sloppy, doubled up, and skipping), and a taped-together tag. I had to actually investigate whether it was a fake! I thought the Rogue was one of the premium bags at Coach and it was my first Coach purchase in several years, but this has left a bad taste in my mouth, both with Coach and Dillard's (did they send me the floor model at full price??).
