I don't know if anyone else has the same experiences that I do but every time I walk into a Coach store as of late I am met with an overwhelming air of better then everyone.

I have been trying to get into the Coach brand. I'm a guy and I love their backpacks and duffle bags but I can't seem to pull the trigger on ever owning one because the staff at both my local Coach stores have been rude and indignant about everything I ask.

Even asking about a simple bag charm I'm met with some resistance.

I don't know if I'm the only one or probably just being over dramatic but having worked retail I expect a higher level of service especially when it comes from a brand that considers itself on a high pedestal like Louis Vuitton.

Again I love coach products just can't think of owning one because of the snob attitude that I get.

I've shopped at the outlets and my god my experience there is so much different.

Sorry if this offends anyone just voicing an opinion.

I think it depends on the store. All the SA's at my store are super nice. Whether I'm browsing, picking up an online order, or doing a return. And I drag my small children in with me and they are always gracious. But I have heard others complain about their boutiques. So I imagine it may just be certain stores and perhaps the management at those stores.

I agree that it depends on the store. But, one thing that I've noticed is that the sales associates are much nicer if I'm actually carrying the brand of the store that I'm visiting. They have ignored me if I was carrying a premier designer in a contemporary store or vise versa....

That is too bad that you are treated that way when visiting one of their boutiques. There is no reason for that type of attitude. The boutiques around the area I live in are all friendly and helpful. The outlet SAs are also pretty friendly at the area outlets.

I had a bad experience with the sales staff at a Coach once. I wasn't greeted when I came in the store, which I thought was weird, and then the SA just followed me around silently. I never felt so uncomfortable in a Coach store, and it was awful. I was carrying a Coach bag (and not a cheap sight or anything!) and was dressed nice with Coach shoes too! I called and complained the next day, I was made to feel like I was unwelcome and like I was going to steal something instead of a customer. I went back to the store and complained in person as well. I then stopped buying Coach products for the next 4 years. I couldn't fathom being such a loyal customer and being treated so poorly. Why would I throw down $1000 for the bag I was looking at if I was going to be treated so badly? Why should I spend my money in their store when they won't even say hello to me.

I just went back to Coach this year and it's been wonderful going back in and having the SAs actually speak to me without any regard to how I am dressed or what I am carrying.

OP I'm sorry you weren't treated well. Maybe it was just one rude SA, but you shouldn't stand for it and should definitely bring it up.

I know the feeling. That's another reason why I'm wary to purchase anything. The coach stores in my area although it is a big city I've noticed don't have much foot traffic.

But it's easy to see why because every SA regardless of male or female or age have all been rude. Just asking a question about hot stamping makes them angry. Like I'm sorry I have questions.

I just get annoyed because I'm planning on buying a duffle bag for my boyfriend and when I went in to ask if I can see it. The first thing that was said was well we don't have it and if you don't pay for it you can't see it. I'm like what the hell man. Why so rude. Guess I'll just order online or go to the outlet.

I don't live near any FP stores but my experience when I have occasionally visited has been the same. Snobby and can't be bothered at FP, nicer at the outlet.

If you use ****** and shop Coach online you can get a little cashback, right now it's just 4% but sometimes it's 8%...and if you don't like, take it back to the store for a refund on the spot and it gets taken off of the store's monthly total sales, payback for the rudeness. If they refuse, call Coach and they should help the store get your money back. I recently learned the hard way on an FOS return that a FP store was just pretending dumb insisting my item had to be returned to the warehouse for a refund. I luckily got a Coach rep to call the store on my behalf to make them stop playing games. It turns out that store has lost customers to nearby stores because of their rudeness and wouldn't you know the SAs are calling those other stores for stealing their clients. I'm fortunate to have at least one store I can visit just to browse and chat. Maybe you can strike up a good relationship with another store by calling them. I've had good experience with SAs in distant areas who were willing to send me extra photos prior to purchase and making sure the bag I was getting was free of defects.
