There was a point o' madness, when I asked sa about hermes jige clutch.
Tpf members made it sound a-f***ing-mazing.
But, irl, awkward to use. And not so pretty.

Really glad did not buy.
Use dogon wallets as clutches instead.
Perfect.

Love my Dogon combined wallet too.

Mine was another Hermes clutch, the Medor 23 clutch.
I had the sexy, smart and 'solid' Box leather Medor 29 version in my head from days of yore BUT the reality of the 'shrunk', softer leather version was basically a fancy small jewellery roll with a bit of extra hardware, sadly disappointing.

I never buy any sort of bag when I already have better.

The Balenciaga City/Work bag. It was the IT bag in 2006. I never bit the bullet because I couldn’t convince myself to spend over $1K for one, given I wasn’t making a lot of money at the time.

Thank god I didn’t. I think the slouchiness would’ve driven me insane, plus if I ever wanted one now they’re much cheaper on the secondhand market these days.

A Classic Speedy! It‘s not the most expensive bag in the world but I am bad at selling things on and especially considering the Speedy is such an iconic piece, I would not have been able to let go of it.

But top handle bags are completely useless to me in my daily life!

Also, the Philip Lim Pashli tote. There was a time when it was all over youtube and I loved it but now I look at it and it does nothing for me. Too boxy, too much hardware and the flap seems impractical.

Too many to list. I have a very distinct taste in bags and I see so many gorgeous bags, but I have to remind myself not to buy all of them and I'm grateful I don't because I feel like I have a well-curated collection that suits my style. If I'd bought every bag I sort of liked, I'd have missed out on a lot of the bags I do have.

I think many of us feel the same

If I'm not reading the purpose of this thread incorrectly, it was bags that we more than sort of liked, rather loved, dreaming about, had them down as our HG, bored everyone silly with, may have ordered or hunted one for years etc or was completely upset at the time we couldn't get one.

Sorry; to clarify, I was in love with them at the time. It’s only looking back that I realize it was infatuation and not love and am glad I didn’t buy.

Going way back...to now:

Chloe Paddington
YSL Muse
Marc by Marc Jacobs bag (I forgot the name, but it was a crossbody)
Chanel pink small Kelly-style bag
Philip Lim mini Pashli
Dior Be Dior bag

The Vernis LV Alma Pm in rouge fauviste. It was a gorgeous bag, but I never would have carried it. I wear clutches when I dress up and I’m way too casual to wear the bag during the day.
