clear coach bags

Hi everyone!!! I was cleaning out my bookshelf yesterday and came across an older Coach catalog (probably 2 years old)...at the end of the catalog were two purses that were produced in a clear material! So, curiosity getting the best of me...I wondered if any TPF-ers bought that purse, ever saw it...what you all thought of it??? I never saw one IRL...so just wondering about your opinions!

I think the same thing too! I was at an amusement park over the weekend and saw a mother and daughter carrying clear fanny packs....just looked odd to see their money, car keys, etc...I guess that is why I was so startled to see them in the Coach catalog!

Considering the pretty pricey things many of us carry in our bags-iPods, Kindles, BlackBerry and other high end phones, etc,I think non-see through bags are much smarter.

One time I got a clinique see-thru beach bag .. After realizing that my bag would be unattended while I was in the water and everyone could see what was inside it ... I decided to donate it !

I couldn't do the see through bag thing either. My stuff is private, lol! If it was a tote or similiar I would use it to store stuff in though.

Clear bags are not for me, either, but I had a friend that used to work retail at a large department store and she was only allowed to use a clear bag - I assume it was to make sure the employees weren't shoplifting but it sure must have been miserable ...

I did that too - it was embarrassing as a teen to have your tampons and such on display!

That would be too weird having all my stuff on display. I would think it might put you more at risk of being robbed if your expensive stuff is visible to everyone. I have clear beach bags and don't have a problem using them. If I want to hide something I just wrap it in a towel or piece of clothing in the bag, but a purse is different.

I have a friend that used to work in a Casino and she could only carry small, clear plastic bags at work because of anti-theft policies. (I wonder if banks require staff to carry clear bags, too!?)
