Anyone own Calfskin Leather (is there much difference between Calfskin Leather & just leather?) bags? Dirty/Damaged easily? What would I use to clean it?

I have a calfskin jacket, HIH but i just purchased leather cleaner, just wipe it down with a damp cloth and the cleaner, then you can respray and condition it.
I have a 200$ bag from Roots (its a thicker leather)same idea, it just washes off. Use the cleaner, and retreat.
I think the difference is the feel and thickness of the leather, and the grain in it.
Like my jacket is very soft and littel grain, where my roots bag is thicker leather and lots of grain.
