I think the P9s are gorgeous, especially the purple one 
but for that kind of money you could have three canvas bags instead or the canvas speedy 25 you're thinking of plus some cute bag charms/SLGs so my vote is for the classic monogram canvas.

For me the P9 is at best an inside joke for LV fans and bald-faced moneygrab.
If I can get P9 for under $3,000 I’d buy it, otherwise, why wouldn’t I spent that money for a Chanel medium classic flap, 90% if not more people on the street thinks Chanel CF more expensive than LV P9 😛

I would vote for the Speedy P9. Very different and luxurious. However I do agree, it very overpriced though. But I think LV and luxury brands of all boards priced everything overboard for a mass produced materials.
Personally, I much prefer the P9. I love colour and I don’t like the traditional brown monogram, and I also don’t like the way a partially full canvas speedy saga in the middle - the P9 seems to squash up in a totally different way. That said … I’m not sure I could bring myself to spend that much on a single bag.
Is it overpriced? Everything designer is.
Only you can decide if it's worth it to you. Personally, I love the look of the P9, but yes, the price is steep.

I own both the P9 and the regular canvas speedy bags and there is truly no comparison between them. I loved the first P9 so much I didn’t even blink on buying the second one when it was offered to me. I absolutely don’t regret either of those purchases.
The P9 is truly exquisite.
I know most folks think the P9 is mass produced but it actually was made in very limited supply. And once the colors are gone they are gone. Then you have to go to the secondary market to find one.
The first round of colors was made by one maker, the second round of colors by a different maker. The third set just released too. All different colors. The sets have their own stamps and different interior numbers on their plaques signifying their maker location from my understanding.
I think owning one is truly special and if you can afford one and actually get your hands on one then I would go for it. You will be amazed at the quality and attention to detail. The leather lining is just as beautiful as the exterior leather. Plus the pouch and pillow and embroidered dust bag. Every piece is stamped and put on perfectly.
It’s definitely not your average speedy in any way.
And, that smooshy leather is to die for and molds to you when carried 🩵

Chiming in a little late here, but my vote is for the P9. I guess the LV inside joke is on me, because I own two of these amazing bags. As a 17 year LV collector, whose first LV was a Speedy, I jumped on the chance to have an incredibly made, all leather Speedy. The details of this bag are like none other. My 2 cents is that I wished I had a crystal ball to know this bag would be made in the future and I could have saved a lot of money on LV bags where the quality has unfortunately slipped over the years. Yes they are expensive, but I sold 2 Hermes bags that as much as they were touted as being the best, my love for that brand isn't as strong. To each their own, but I can't say enough good things about the P9, other than the cost.
If I had the funds, I would definitely go for the P9.
personally I feel like speedy is super causal bag style, so for that reason to spend so much for the P9 doesn't make sense to me bc in my mind causal bag=casual price. But there is an argument to be made that a casual bag would be used more, so casual bag more use, then maybe it's okay to spend more on the casual styles bc you will get the cost per wear down. Proof that the mind of a handbag lover can justify anything the heart desires LOL
At $12,000 plus a bag, we gotta to wear it taking shower, going toilet, I meant every single Second, in order to bring thy cost down🤣
