Hi everyone,

I’ve just bought a lambskin medium CF. I’ve noticed that the strap does not move really at all through the eyelets (if that’s what they are called).

I have to force them through if I want to alter the strap length to wear the bag in a different way if the bag is closed.

is this right?

if the bag is open I can move them but they don’t run smoothly, is this normal. I’ve tried looking on you tube videos, but they haven’t been much help really.

also, if I pull the strap through the eyelets when it’s closed, they seem to be leaving marks/indents on the top of the interior flap.

again is this also normal?

thanks everyone

I have a new caviar medium classic flap that does the same thing. When I mentioned it to my SA before purchase, she explained it was because the inner flap is new and stiff. She recommended that I always open the outer flap before pulling the chain through, which I understand is a “best practice”. Also, although I never button the inner flap down, I noticed that the claim slides easier if I do.

It does not bother me. The chain stays put, which is nice because I like to hide the part where the leather ends join. And, besides, I don’t need to be yanking the chain on this bag! With lambskin, I would think this is doubly so.

Thanks for raising the question. Will be interesting to hear other thoughts on this point.

Thank you. I’m glad it’s alright and not something I have to go back to them about.

i will ensure I open the outer flap before moving the chain.

yes I wasn’t going to button down the inner flap either. I think it’s quite hard to fasten and worried it will just squish the bag out of shape by fastening it everytime.

yes, I’m going to hide the part where the leather joins also.

again, true with the lambskin also being more delicate. i need to be careful.

I can see that there are already some marks on the top of the inner flap just from indents from the chain. Probably normal, esp with lambskin.
