Christmas Decision - LV or Burberry

So for my Christmas list (Husband insists as he's a horrible shopper) I am trying to decide between the LV Montana in Amarante or the Burberry Medium Signature Grain Leather Bowling Bag in Military Red. I don't have a red bag. I tend to stick to black, tans and shades of blue as I have never been a red person, or so I thought. I fell in love with the Amarante but worry that LV is becoming a bit over exposed. The Burberry seems a classic choice and is a truer red but in the near future I am saving for a Hermes Victoria II and the style seems similar. Any input would be great. I could always leave the choice to my husband and really be surprised.

I vote for the LV. It's a beautiful bag and you cannot go wrong with it.

I pick the Louis Vuitton bag. Both bags are cute, but I find the LV bag prettier. I think it would make a lovely Christmas gift.

I'd pick the Burberry bag, because it's a "red" you're after, and because it's more subtle. I am also biased: I happen to be pretty tired of patent and the LV logo print does nothing for me. I love that the Burberry is printless! It is pretty similar to the Victoria, but unless you plan to buy that in red, it shouldn't matter.

But... have you considered pre-loved LV epi red, a speedy or alma? The color is TDF. You might be able to luck into a mint/near-mint condition one via the major consignors, since LV bags are so popular!

I'm personally over with LV but Burberry time to time have bags go on sale or to the outlet. LV you are guarantee to go up in value or they'll discontinue. If I spend over $1500 on bags I like to know that the bag won't go on sale.
