choosing my first Prada....

What are you looking for? Handheld, shoulder carry, small, big enough to carry the kitchen sink, leather, nylon, open-top, zipper-top, hobo, tote, black, blue, camel, what do you want to use it for, etc, etc...? There are so many choices and quite a few websites like the ones PP has suggested that carry Prada. Trust me, if you can answer some of these questions the suggestions from these lovely ladies will come pouring in. Bag shopping for others is almost as fun as bag shopping for ourselves. Lol. The other thing is, one of us has probably owned some version of whatever it is you might be interested in and between the lot of us we can probably tell you the general pros and cons of pretty much any bag you can throw at us. Right ladies?

I want a handbag for everyday, chic with jeans and looks great for going out to dinner or the theater. I like a bag which is accessible (where everything doesn't end up together in a big, black hole in the bottom. I don't carry much (wallet, glass case, keys and small misc. zip bag for lipstick etc). but I like the look of larger handbags. I don't like anything trendy and always end up with black (although the Prada beige intrigues me). I always gravitate to totes and definitely not nylon. I like lightweight leather bags.

It's Prada model BR4311. It comes in three different sizes. This is the smallest. They come in lots of colors, neutrals and of course, black. These are HUGELY popular here. Retail on this size is around $950 now.

Here it is in amaranto. It's a gorgeous burgundy color, very neutral.

If you like handheld totes this one is stunning. Especially in the blue. If I wasn't so handheld challenged I'd have gotten it long ago. Still contemplating it though.

I love Prada's beige as well and would totally get something like this if I thought I was adult enough to keep it clean. I just can't baby my bag. It drives me crazy. I keep making visits to it though.

I saw this one when I was in Saks a few weeks ago in the beige and it is absolutely beautiful! It's a nice size but not too big. I didn't pick it up but I think this leather is fairly lightweight. The shoulder strap is a nice touch too. Always nice to be able to throw it on your shoulder if need be.
