I too came looking to buy my first paddy and eventually purchased the beauty you can see in my avatar.
fakes will get easier to spot as you learn all the distinguishing marks and features..but one thing the fakers can never reproduce is the natural softness and suppleness of the wrinkles in the leather
you can pm for more pictures so you can compare it to the picture of the Grenat you posted to see the difference.
