I treated myself to a pre-loved Rolex Air-King. I was having trouble finding a new one with a salmon dial and arabic markers. I got a great deal on one on eBay and absolutely love it, but the seller didn't mention a chip in the crystal. I expected some normal scratches on the band, but the chipped crystal is driving me crazy. The seller has offered to give me $75 back but I don't know if I should accept. I love the watch and don't want to return it. I'm not sure if the watch was damaged in transit (I paid for shipping insurance) or if it was just not disclosed. Should I open an eBay dispute or accept the $75? How much will a crystal replacement cost?

If the seller did not disclose a chipped crystal, what else have they chosen not to disclose? I would open a dispute, to try and get a full refund and return the watch.

The seller claims they didn't see the chip, which leads me to believe it was damaged in transit. It got lost for a few days in shipping. It is keeping time perfectly and I really love the watch. I'd rather just get a partial refund. I just don't know how much of a refund to ask for.

I agree. Don't accept this. Would you have bought it if you knew?
At the minimum, I'd get a quote on replacement from Rolex and ask for that $$ back.

I wear my watches very loose which drives my jeweler crazy. They keep telling me when I damage the crystal it will be very expensive to replace.

I question whether it could have been damaged in transit if it was packed properly. Regardless, I would not accept it with a damaged crystal and would return it.

You should really call the Rolex service center at 212-758-7700, and they can tell you. I was shocked my new crystal would only be $105, but I have a copy of my repair estimate and that is what it says. Surprisingly, the new bracelet is $480 and a new face is $475 :(
