To share - I’ve been thinking of getting juc earrings for a while. For my fear of getting expensive earrings and losing them, I never quite pulled the trigger. For Xmas I decided to do it - and walked home with white gold juc earrings (also debated the one with diamonds). Was trying them at home and dropped it - causing a huge dent. Texted my SA and she just stated to polish it which I’m hesitant. Anyone had experience with this? I’ve dropped my other Cartier pieces before but never caused a huge dent (perhaps I have more diamond pieces and they protect the gold). I even knocked my juc bracelet on marble once and it only came off with a small scratch!

So I have the same earrings in YG and they didn't chip, BUT my JUC Ring chipped JUST like your earrings did [same position and all]. The gold wore down itself and fixed itself within months! I noticed the chip in Aug and in Oct/Nov it was all fixed on its own. To be completely honest your dent looks a bit bigger than mine was, but not by much!

Sorry that happened! As @Jetsetmax mentioned, it may not be noticeable while wearing since it is on the side facing your ear lobe. Kind of hard to tell how large it is but it seems quite deep from this pic - I almost wonder if laser welding would be a better fix over a polish. There's some amazing work done on huge dents in watches.

It fixed by itself? What does it mean? Like it evened out eventually? I wonder if it’s because you wore it so it wore down and evened out eventually

Ouch! I'm so sorry. I have those earrings and they are my favorite. :)
I would bring them back to Cartier and have them polish it. I think if it's shiny it won't be as noticeable. Especially when you are wearing them.

I wouldn’t get it polished I would just wear them the way they are. Awhile ago I dropped my pendant on a tile floor and the gold had chipped on the corner over time miraculously it became better. It wasn’t completely fixed but the scratches and dent had gotten smoother

Chipped? No, that’s dented. If it were enamel and a piece of enamel came off, that would be chipped. Gold dropped in the ground is dented. It is barely noticeable even on high magnification. This stuff happens. Things get scratched, dented and damaged with use. It could be buffed on a wheel to soften the dent, but it will always be there under high magnification. No one can see it but you.

I once dropped my WG clash ring on the bathroom floor and it wasn’t round anymore. Cartier took it back and send it to their repair workshop but finally exchanged it for a brand new one. Maybe a trip to the nearest boutique is worth the while…
Really? That’s nice. Was it new or used already? My SA stated polish was the only way to go but not sure if they’ll make that decision…

Also not being round meaning the shape? Or you meant the studs?

I don’t know about polishing, it is a big chip.
What is the store policy?
They might fix it/exchange it for a fee.
I think they could exchange it if I lied about not wearing it/ came like that from the store (I’ve exchanged a few times due to un noticed scratches from the store) - but this was all me and I felt bad doing that under that disguise. I can certainly ask.,,
