Why does Coach put these tacky nylon straps on otherwise NICE men's bags? One of these would make a great work tote, if they had leather straps. I don't mind a nylon strap on a hiking bag, like something from Overland Equipment, but they ruin these totes for me.

Don't get me started! My Poppy spotlight is a gorgeous bag with the prettiest blue leather and it has a horrible beige webbing strap that isn't removable!

Oh, I remember thinking at the time that that was such an unfortunate addition to some of the early Poppy bags. Why do they do that?

I think it has something to do with that the bag was too beautiful so they figured they had to do something to spoil it! Alternately, they were trying to make it more playful, younger, since that is what the Poppy line was for.

They have done this with women's bags as well. I returned a bag (well, it was terribly quality anyway) because the strap was like plastic! Makes no sense to me!!!!

Many of the men's bags at the outlets have nylon webbing straps, too. I'd guess that Coach may be trying for a more sporty look there (and saving weight and a few bucks on materials), but I'd rather have the leather straps. There's one colorway of an outlet men's leather duffle that has red, white, and blue webbing straps (if I'm remembering it correctly) - whenever I see it, I think "Hilfiger".

At least they usually match them to the leather of the bags - whateve, I have no idea what they were thinking with that beige strap!
