Chic decisions

I am in need of advice because I'm horrible with decisions.

I live in a Midwest city and don't see a lot of designer bags. Have never saw a person carrying Celine- but tons of LV around here and a few Chloes.

My anniversary is approaching and I told my Mr. that I would prefer a bag (of course) over jewelry. I had my heart set on a Celine.

While on vacation, we stopped by a LV store for the heck of it and I actually fell in love with the cross body w bag. I've attached pics. We had very little time to decide if we should purchase, so we threw caution to the wind and bought.

My husband keeps saying he can't believe I bought the LV because I've never much liked them, I feel they aren't very me. I think they are beautiful, but not necessarily my style.

I also like that designers like BV, Chloe and yes, even Celine are not very recognizable around these parts unless you are into designer bags. While LV is very well known (and always the authenticity is speculated over).

But, for whatever reason I loves this bag and went for it! ImageUploadedByPurseForum1399562044.646347.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1399562094.436270.jpg

Now I'm absolutely stewing over which bag I should own. I am a casual dresser, I'm a mom but haven't given up on looking as chic as I can manage...

In stuck on these three options:
Stick with the LV ($1000 more than either of the other two)
Mini trapeze in vermillion
Nano in red or vermillion

I love love love the option of crossbody, but the trapeze is so damn cool that I would over look it.

Which has staying power? Since it's anniversary, I would like to hold on to it and pass down to my minis.

Sorry for the novel. I'm sure it portrays how anxious I am about the decision....

I think a Nano would be a better choice! Always go for something that not a lot of people recognize! And a Nano in red looks A LOT better than a W.
And I agree you look very pretty!

I have both Nano and Trapeze and I use my Nano a lot more. When your shopping (especially with kids) you can't be fiddling around taking time to unclasp and unzip the Trapeze. The nano even if it goes out of style would still look really cute passed on to the younger generation.
Im not sure if anyone in the Celine forum would vote for the LV though. Have you asked the LV forum?
PS DAYYYYMMNNN Girl you're beautiful

You guys are seriously awesome. I mean it. That's so nice, thank you. I should come check in every day!

I *sort of* asked the LV girls their opinion, but haven't heard back yet. I suppose I could ask in a general forum, but I tend to forum hop to different designers and was hoping others here do too.

In all honesty, I tend to think of everyone here on Celine as sort of the cooooool crowd and was seriously wondering if anyone would be like "oh! Actually, I quite like the w!" Ha!

Great advice on nano vs trapeze. I get so bogged down in decisions. And distracted by pretty things. I first started focused on the nano and that's what I'm going to stick with.

And I loooooove what was said about passing it down. I always tell the mr. that my girls won't get a ton of jewelry, but they'll have ahmazing handbags!

Now.... Which red? I am drawn to the vermillion but the true red looks pretty bright as well...

Before you come to any decision, think about which bag will actually suit your needs. Your previous thread mentioned being somewhat disappointed in the size of the W bb. If you are seriously considering either a mini trapeze or a nano (both great bags) try them on before you decide. Best of luck with your decision, all three are great bags.

Thank you, that really is great advice, but of course I live where I don't have access to anyone who sells celine. After my initial disappointment in the bb size I started to think I may as well go for the nano - I had thought the w looked bigger until I had it home and really was disappointed because I thought it would be more of an every day bag than the nano and it cost so much more...

I agree, they are all gorgeous. Wish I could have them all!

While the nano can be surprisingly commodious for a bag it's size, I'd suggest that you visit the reference thread for the actual dimensions of the nano. If I remember correctly, a nano usually is 8" by 8" by 4"

personally, when it comes to special bag purchases, I don't necessarily think it's best to be practical and think things through a ton. you said yourself that you spontaneously fell in love with the LV bag and for whatever reason were drawn to it.

so that's the bag I think you should keep. personally out of all the bags I own, the ones that I just walked into the store and saw and bought are my favorite and most used. the ones that I thought about for months and kept looking up pictures of and weighing the pros and cons of just sit in my closet.

but maybe that's just me.

NANO CELINE 2,700 USD - last year $2400 USD
Is a new classic already. yet fun and cool for a busy/jet set live
Holds its shape.
Bag is well closed off and practical.

TRAPEZE MINI size CELINE $2,700 USD
Is very nice and chic on pictures, ages not so well when you have suede or pony skin parts.
Bags don´t hold shape well when its to full with items and with age .
If you don´t pay attention to the side press buttons your bag is open on the side - items may fall out or get stolen.

W BB size LOUIS VUITTON $3,950.00 (USD)
PRO
Well the bag W style is two season young your size is new this season.
Style wise i feel its taking some notes from the Celine design book.
Its a bag that LV hopes becomes one of the new status leather classic bags hence the high price.
I don´t mind the shape and i have to say you make the bag look better then on the shelve´s.
CON
But if i look that you have a BV and a Chloe the BV will be and is already a very chic and future classic bag brand and style. the Chloe you will sell next year on E bay for less than you paid for it.
If you want to built a lasting bag collection and as investment i would focus on bags/brands that are not so new in the season and go for a Celine Nano in this case as a practical fashion bag.
You are paying at LV a very high price for a risk that by next year this bag could be seen as last trend because of the funny LV needle point logo monogram on the sides.

Never the less the bag looks really nice on you because your beautiful woman and not because the bag is amazing by it self.

My final advise is return it get a Nano or Trapeze and save the 1000 USD for another future dream bag.
I like the new direction of LV but its to early to pay a premium for these leather bags they are trying out now.
