Chemical smell

I’ve just bought the classic small flap wallet, I believe in grained calfskin.
The problem is it smells really strongly of glue or chemicals or something! I can’t smell the leather at all!
Is this normal?!

No not really especially for a classic. I would exchange or return.

My bags smell like leather but definitely not glue or any strong chemicals.

Thanks ladies. The smell seems to be coming more from the packaging so not sure if it’s some strange storage issue! I’m going to return it.
