This diamond belonged to my Nanny (grandmother) and was left to me. I've worn it in a bezel setting as a necklace for about 5 years and decided it was time for a change. The diamond for some reason wants to get a bit of a glare in the pic...
So, what do ya'll think, did I do good?

Thanks everyone! Sorry I haven't been back to this thread until now...it's been a busy Saturday doing some "spring cleaning". Took some more pics, I think some of the problem is I have such shaky hands with a camera  Maybe these are a little better. The diamond is almost a full carat, it is what is called a "miner's cut". The bezel pendant setting simply wasn't doing it justice, it is simply blinding now!
I actually got a great deal on the setting. A local jewelry store is closing to expand the beauty salon they run next to it, and everything is 50% off. I got my mom a gorgeous string of opera length freshwater pearls for Valentine's there for 1/2 price, which she has wanted for years, but would never ask for them. My husband got me a white gold mother/child pendant with sapphire for Christmas, so it was simply time to do something different with the diamond.
I found the setting in the showcase, kind of up in the corner and when I saw it, I fell in love with it. I love baguettes and the emeralds are so gorgeous, and the small diamonds really add sparkle. It compliments the stone without overpowering it. The scrollwork on the sides adds a nice vintage look. I won't spill the beans on how much I actually paid (I also brought in a bunch of scrap gold too), but the original price for the setting alone was right at $1000.
I'm thrilled with it~ I've wanted a nice right hand ring for a while. This will be a piece that will become a family heirloom, much like the custom onyx intaglio family ring left to me by my dad that's 150 years old. I'm saving it for my son when he is old enough to appreciate it.
Enough rambling...hope the pics are better! Just please excuse my rider's hands...:p Someday, I will learn how to resize pics and get my new camera settings correct...:shrugs:

Thanks everyone! I am really enjoying wearing it~ my hand already feels strange when I don't have it on. It's funny how quickly some pieces of jewelry instantly become a part of you. ;)
