Hi everyone,

I’m looking to add another white gold necklace to my collection (at the moment I only have the WG Mother of Pearl Vintage Alhambra). I’m torn between the Messika Baby Move pavé necklace and the Chaumet Jeux de Liens MOP pendant, and I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Do you think the Chaumet feels a bit more timeless? I really love the sparkle of the Messika pavé, but I’m a little worried it could date more quickly. Honestly, I love both equally (before anyone asks, haha) and I’m also open to the idea of eventually getting both, just not sure which one to start with.

Would love to hear your opinions! Pictures provided :)

I think the Messika can play up well being casual (wearing with a tee) and a little formal at the same time (think little black dress with that little bling on neckline ).

I find the chaumet is girly. Depends how you interpret it. And that MOP not gonna stay shiny if you plan to wear it 24/7. I have a vca MOP bracelet and it absolutely needs a replacement (wear to everything). But it’s on wrist so it’s not so bad; i wouldn’t wear it on my neck if a MOP is so beated 😅

Sounds like everybody is Team Messika so far, can’t say it’s not swaying me!! 🤭

You’ve got some great points! I usually only put them on when I go out so it won’t be a 24/7 thing but I do wonder if the Chaumet MOP piece being a 3D MOP piece will age worse than the Alhambra I have which is flat and sort of protected by the white gold frame…

While neither are my aesthetic and I personally tend to go for more classic styles, I choose the Messika.

The Chaumet feels a little...meh. Honestly from the photo I couldn't even tell it was MOP. Looked like white gold to me.

Also, diamonds over MOP any day lol.
Generally with smaller, more dainty, less statement pieces, I feel that the sparkle of diamonds give it that little extra oomph. It helps it stand out a little more, a sparkle here and there, without being too much.

The Messika is lovely with the twinkle from the diamonds, and the unusual shape.

The other necklace looks bland, not really any particular point of interest, in my view.
