I thought it would be fun to start a charm jewelry thread! I will start with a post of my mother’s beloved charm bracelet that she gifted me recently. I used to play with this bracelet all the time when I was a child and I am so grateful that she has finally given it to me.
I would love to see charm bracelets, charm necklaces, anything charm jewelry related!
I am starting with a vintage piece but let’s see your modern charm creations as well! I will post more soon.

I do not wear this charm bracelet as it is quite old and very heavy, but I put it on to show how chunky it is. The karats range from 9k to 18k on the bracelet. I told my mother I might take the locket off, get it fixed up and use it and she encouraged me to do so. Otherwise I am just going to simply clean this with a polishing cloth because I don’t even trust these charms to go in soapy water, especially the ones with a dollar bill enclosed!

Your charms are gorgeous, one and all

Thank you so much. My mum told me that she started this charm bracelet around the age of 16, that would have been at 1955. She is not sure exactly when. I am going to print up these photos and when I visit her next I am going to ask what she can remember so I can write it all down.
It’s very special to me and I am so grateful to have it now.

That bracelet is absolutely stunning! I loved looking at the pictures of the individual charms. Thank you for posting them. How many years was your mother adding charms to the bracelet? Did some of the charms commemorate vacations? Some appear to be Greek-themed. Lovely!

I always loved charm bracelets when I was a kid, too! Unfortunately, I don't have anything that was my mother's or any family heirloom, but I have thought of starting my own charm bracelet with a few different pendants my daughter has bought me for bday/mother's day that I don't ever wear (which she has commented on). Thinking I can add to a silver Tiffany bracelet a friend bought me for xmas a few years ago that I also don't wear. I do have a couple of TOUS bracelets with charms. I will look for to photograph but definitely nothing unique, vintage, or as meaningful like yours.

Thanks for sharing. I hope you're able to track down the history and symbolism of each charm!

Here are the 2 TOUS charm bracelets I have. The bottom one I treated myself to on my first mothers day after my youngest daughter was born (first time celebrating as a mother of 2 and all the charms are "mom" related) and the top one I bought when I was in Spain a few years ago with youngest daughter bc she loves elephants but I also liked the mixed colored metals.

Thank you! I believe she stopped adding charms soon after she got married to my father in the 70’s, and dang it she told me something about the Greek themed ones and I can’t remember! That’s why I need to sit with her and ask.

Here's the Tiffany bracelet along with some of the trinkets my kids have bought me that I thought I could use as charms. I feel bad when my daughter recently said " I didn't get you a gift for mothers day because you never wear anything I get you" so I thought this would be a way to incorporate some past gifts. She's usually really sweet and thoughtful, I just don't really wear jewelry and at this point in my life, this stuff isn't my style. I also came across this Dior bracelet I didn't even remember I had and could possibly just add charms to that.

I think that’s a great idea, it will be a great keepsake :)
