Just purchased my first KS Charles Street in Dark n Stormy at a great price from Lord & Taylor...yay!

I have a question...Do the handles eventually fold down with wear or are they designed to stay up? Do you use leather conditioner on KS? If so, what do you recommend?

I saw this in the store. It's similar but not the same as Audrey. I decided not to get it because I couldn't get the handles to fold down. It's a bummer because it's otherwise a nice bag.

I have an Audrey and the handles fold down easily. However I bought a Brantley from the last online sale and I could NOT get the handles to fold down at all. I ended up returning the Brantley because those handles were a deal breaker for me. The Audrey and Brantley are very similar, but not the same bag. The Audrey has a slight "dip" in the top, giving it a different silhouette.

Thank you both! This is helpful. I definitely have the Brantley. I'll have to play around with the handles and see if I can live with them staying up or not or if the can be trained. It's a really nice bag.

How are you liking your Brantley? I just ordered one, and hoping it's going to work for me. How do you like the size? Would love to hear your opinion and see pictures! Thank you!

I haven't used it yet. I did put all my stuff in it though to try it out. I do like it. It fits everything with room to spare and is lightweight which I really like.

I sent an email to KS customer service asking if the handles fold down or if they will eventually fold down with use. The response was, "the handles do stand upright on their own and are designed to stay upright. However, they can be folded down if necessary, as the handles are not locked into one position."

Hope that helps. I think I am going to keep it...I got such a great price and don't have any brown bags in my current collection so I think she fits perfectly.

I love the color and the leather! I don't think the strap is too long but I'm also 5'7" so have a different perspective. I hope it works for you!

Received my Charles Street Brantley in Dark N Stormy today - It exceeds my expectations! I was able to get the handles to fold down and the long strap is just right to wear on my shoulder (on the shortest setting). It's very roomy but not overwhelmingly large. Also pictured is the Cedar Street Leopard Lacey wallet. Purchased these from the online sale (extra 25% off sale items). I was under the impression that these were final sale items, but my invoice included a pre-paid return label. I won't be returning them though! :smile1:
