I bought a couple of pieces in my local charity shop this morning. I will put photos on here later. I thought it might be interesting to see what other bits people have picked up in charity shops, car boot sales or jumble sales.

Anybody got any super-bargains to show and tell?

What are boot or jumble sales? I am not familiar with those terms. Thanks!

OOops! Sorry. In the UK boot sales are where people sell unwanted items out of the boots of their cars and jumble sales are where churches or schools collect unwanted items to raise funds!

Any second-hand sale really. Yard sales, garage sales, house sales, second-hand shops etc.

Hope this helps! ;)

Boot sales - thats cute - over here we also have flea markets, consignment shops, pawn shops

A while back I was collecting some nice old 50s rhinestone pins - have them stored somewhere - dont really wear them - never found anything too valuable

I have been lucky to find a lot of treasures, thrift shopping. This WG & diamond necklace was one of them. (I think it was about $20.00)

Boot sales are usually in fields or large car parks and sellers bring all their unwanted items in their car, park somewhere at the boot sale (sometimes you get given a space and sometimes you just park anywhere), and then you sell your stuff. Most people set up folding / decorating tables in front of their car boot and display things a little better on them. They're great though - you can find all sorts of bargains!
