Hello All!
I am fairly new to the luxury bag world, but I am just curious what is the best way to store leather items? Is in the original packaging with the dust bag the best option?
I have heard some people say that heat/oils in the dust bag can damage the leather, is this true?:confused1:
And one more question, is a bag shaper a good idea for the WOC?

I put the chain of my WOC (Caviar leather) inside the WOC and store it upright in the dustbag in my storage room or wardrobe. I leave the WoC and the dustbag open.
Having mine since some years and still absolutely happy with it.
(Living in non humid Environment with „normal“ Temperature :)

I’ve had my WOC in black caviar for a few years now. I store in its dustbag and stand it upright in a shelf in my closet. I make sure when I store it, I have the felt still in place where the pocket is and surrounding the button closure. So the zipper doesn’t cause any dents on the caviar. It still looks brand new! When I use it, I always use my bag shaper as well as a base.

This is what I do too. I keep a felt between the zipper and then keep a base shaper, upright inside the dust bag. Bag shaper is fine but make sure you get soft foldable type ones with rounded corners. I got mine from Amazon. Head over to the WOC thread in Chanel clubhouse sub forum and people have great suggestions for base shapers.

oh that’s a good tip to leave the shaper in the WOC when you store it! I store mine flat and just insert the base shaper when I use it. It’s so tedious when I do so I will try your way too! Thanks

I use and store my woc with an acrylic base shaper I purchased on Etsy. I prefer it over the woc saver which I have for another woc. I store with the chains out but not with them under the leather. I just like looking at the beautiful leather. i dont store it in The dust bag because my bags are stored In a cabinet that has a glass door.

Does the acrylic one dent the leather on the inside? I have a felt one so I think its good but the acrylic one looks like it could permanently damage the leather
