I asked this in their respective chat threads bc I couldn't figure out how to create a new thread, LOL. Anywho, finally able to figured it out in the computer  I'm in the search for a blue top handle with shoulder strap. I love the look of both bags ...curious what everyone's thought is. Which bag would you choose?

Thanks in advance!

I was debating between both of these bags as well, and ended up going with the Lady Dior (in black, with ruthenium hardware). Not sure if you ever intend on carrying the bag as a crossbody, but I’ve read numerous reviews stating that the cocoa handle is extremely uncomfortable when worn that way. Aesthetically, I much prefer the look of the LD in the blue over the Chanel in the shade of blue pictured - obviously just my personal opinion though.

I am not a fan of either (mainly because of size, they're both too big for my preferences) but in terms of color I'd choose the Dior. The lambskin takes up the blue color beautifully and it looks a lot more opaque/saturated and richer than the Chanel caviar.

In terms of practicality and functionality, like @nycgirl79 I have also heard that the coco handle is quite bulky and uncomfortable when worn crossbody. If you also wear it crossbody, while opening the coco handle, the handle itself will push into you and I have heard because the handle is so stiff and rigid, it feels uncomfortable. While the Lady Dior is more of top open sort of bag and is more easily accessible. But handle held, design/aesthetic wise I think they're both cute!

I'm sure you've done your research, but Lady Dior lambskin is on the delicate side (but not that delicate, you know, as long as you're not banging it around or anything lol) but depending on your lifestyle, you may need to handle it more carefully (I know I would need to, I don't baby my bags at all). And I have heard that the coco handle is notorious for it's easy corner wear.

Just my 2 cents, but they are both great classic bags! Happy shopping!

I voted LD bc I’m not a fan of caviar leather and bc I find this chanel combo (handle, body and logo) oddly mature and conservative. IMO there is a fine line between classic and conservative. JMO though

note: if you buy LD, I recommend going in person and NOT buying on line as there have been many threads about awful e-commerce experiences

100% agree on all points!

I have both these bags, and I would choose the Lady Dior before the Coco Handle because it's so pretty with the lambskin. I don't find Dior lambskin to be very delicate -- I have a few of them and they've held up quite well. However, I am careful with all my bags.

A few thoughts about wearing the Coco Handle crossbody: I agree with the posters above that in the size pictured above (with the eight quilts across), the handle will push into you when it's worn crossbody and you need to open the bag. The strap drop is shorter I believe.
However, I don't think this happens with the smaller (mini) sizes of the Coco Handle -- I think the strap drop is longer on those bags. I don't own any of the mini sizes of the Coco Handle though, so not absolutely sure about that. My Coco Handle is the small size, which to me is actually a medium size (eight quilts across the top flap when counted), and this size is more conducive to being worn as a shoulder bag.
