I have been a member for quite some time and collecting Chanel for nigh on 20 years. I finally wanted to get a definitive opinion on the Chanel VIP Pearl handbag which was reputedly given as a gift in Dubai in 2016. I have seen them on many different sites, including Vestiare and 1st Dibs to name a couple selling in excess of £1000+
I have seen many opinions on this bag which vary from not authentic to being authentic, l have to add that I actually own one of these bags, bought as a present by by husband a few years ago l hadn’t the heart to tell him my suspicions! In my opinion this is not genuine, the bag itself is quite well made but the interior which is plasticised black flock material has no labels whatsoever and the chain appears very inferior with no turned edges on the entwined ‘pleather’. Mine does not have the additional pearl shorter strap, but came with the outer box with Chanel stickers on it and a Chanel dustbag.
So I am throwing it out there and would really appreciate any opinions from the experienced members on this site to finally confirm or throw out my beliefs!
