Hello all,

I got a lovely small boy in black Chevron calfskin last month. My usual was to order a Samorga insert to protect the inside of my bags, don’t like that it takes almost a month to get it but that’s just the way it is with them. Unfortunately what they sent me fits inside my wallet on chain, and it’s tiny and does not protect the Boy as it’s way too narrow. I just wanted to let people know that they were awful after the fact, I was even willing to keep the one they sent me to put in my wallet on chain and buy a second one correctly sized for the boy. They asked me four times to measure the inside of my bag over the course of a week, even though I measured it inside the first time and included the photographs. They asked me multiple times for more measurements, more pics, to email back more measurements and more pics. After they essentially accused me of lying that I knew it was the wrong size for my bag, I sent them a note and said “I’m sorry, you never once apologized for your mistake, you never offered to make it right, and I don’t work for Samorga. I ordered one from another company and no need to respond”. They would never provide me measurements for the insert I might have purchased if it was correct, and I know they don’t post measurements online which is annoying because if I’d known what the measurements were I would not have purchased it. Even though I have several Samorga inserts it was so annoying and so time consuming for a $30 item, I will never purchase from them again. I just wanted to let you all know that if you were ordering a small Boy insert it may well be incorrectly sized. I will include some photos below.

On a happier note however, Zoomoni emailed me when I was in the middle of the mess with Samorga, and said they now make 1.2 mm felt inserts - the thickness I prefer for small bags. I ordered one after Samorga dropped the ball, same price but shipping $10 less and it arrived in a little over a week instead of the month Samorga takes. I even asked them to leave out the inside pockets as I don’t need them in a small Boy. It arrived in perfect condition in a small box, without pockets and with a lovely thank you note and I could not be happier with it. It fits perfectly and was a totally frictionless process! I will work with them only for any felt inserts for good. Pics below.

I love being able to write excellent reviews and often do, but wanted to let folks know about a less than satisfactory experience as well. Now with my Zoomoni insert inside, I can use my Boy worry free!!

I have inserts from both. I also dislike how long samorga takes but they seem to fit the best overall. Zoomoni has always been a good alternative though and also allows customization.

I bought from both Samorga and Zoomoni for my bags and must say I prefer Zoomoni more coz they shipped faster than Samorga and they also include small removable pocket that can fit a lipstick!

I noticed Zoomoni is available through Amazon.com. It appears you can customize color, but not the felt thickness like you can direct. Shipping costs appear about the same. Does anyone have both and able to provide pics of the thickness comparison? :flowers:

I have one 2mm insert in turquoise and the fuschia one is 1.2 mm. The 2mm is just too thick for small bags for me, I bought it for an Evelyne and it was too thick and rigid and distorted the soft leather of the bag, and I don’t use it. And for my big LV bags I use Divide and Conquer inserts from Etsy, that give more shape, they are made of yacht sail canvas, and have a waterproof bottom. I love those inserts especially in my NFs.

Here are two photos of Zoomoni, the fuschia is the 1.2mm for my boy. The top edge is thicker on both, as both have the turned over edge to finish the top. I took a pic inside the blue as you can see the 2mm not folded for an edge. As I asked Zoomoni to leave out the pockets in my Boy insert I can‘t show you an unfinished edge in the 1.2. But the 1.2 takes up hardly any space and holds maximum items in a small bag. HTH

Thank you so much for providing all that detailed info! I agree that the 1.2 would be more suitable for the bags I am considering purchasing these for. This comparison is super helpful!

I’m also looking for an organizer for the medium classic flap in caviar. I’m debating between the 2mm and 1.2mm. Does the 1.2mm provide enough structure in the long-term so that the corners don’t start sagging? Thanks in advance!

I would doubt the 1.2 would do enough to prevent sagging. I use a WOC Saver, a small piece of felt cut to fit the bottom of the WOC to hold it open and give the bottom structure. That lays under the insert. They also come with “sides”, eg one like mine with a fold at either end and felt that goes up the side of the bag an inch or so. This will keep the corners shaped. DK if they make them for classic flaps but I bet they do. HTH!
