Chanel Slingbacks

I recently purchased a pair of Slingbacks from a reseller on eBay. When I received them I noticed the strap was very stretched out but otherwise the shoes looked brand new.

I took them to the Chanel boutique and compared to the new Slingbacks and material and stretch was so much stronger on the in store shoes.

The reseller tried to act like I stretched them out ‍♀️.

Do you think this means they were used or fake?

I have a lot of slingbacks and its never happened to any pairs of mine but I don’t think that means it fake. A lot of people size down with slingbacks so it might have stretched with being tried on by multiple people.

I would suggest taking them to a good cobbler and getting them to put a new elastic in. It should have been declared by the seller though.

The strap fabric is definitely aged and worn and not brand new. I did size down and the strap stretches way past the heel and is torn in places. Beware of eBay seller: fashionfromuk

I can't see the rest of your shoe, but if it's fabric, Chanel usually covers the entire strap in the matching fabric. Your strap looks be partially covered and partially exposed which seems odd. See photo below... this is what I mean. The strap is fully covered with the matching fabric.

It might just be the photo. Personally I'd return them if it were me... it does not look elegant missing the fabric on the strap. Sorry to say, buy it looks a bit like a cheap fake where the person sewed on a strap that was too long.

Keep in mind - u are only looking at one side of the shoe, if u zoom in u can see that the INSISE bit of the elastic is not covered in fabric. It can’t be cos then it would not stretch (tweed doesn’t stretch). I think the TS showed us the inside bit of the slingback therefore this doesn’t scream dupe to me.

Ultimate test? Get it to a store and see if they can fix it for u in france

Yeah the strap is mostly covered in fabric except for the elastic part. I’m getting them repaired.

chanel shoe has a very unique toe box shape....the fakes i've seen you can spot them straight away.
sometimes fakes are more durable than the real thing if you ask me....
