SO........

I accidentally left my chanel wallet in the washing machine....(didn't go through the dryer thank you lord)
Now its warped towards the bottom and a stitch popped out which might have been my fault because thank goodness I had Apple Leather conditioner hanging around and I was reconditioning the leather. I normally don't put it on my Chanels cause ehhh, but I think I was rubbing too hard and it came loose, but i didn't think i was doing it that hard?

Suggestions to revive this? It's not about the money really like i've already started looking for a new one but this piece is a memory and means a lot to me. I want to take care of it in the best way I can.

Oh my goodness, that sounds like a real experience!

Please can you include some photos? That would help me properly assess the damage.

I think it's hard to say that something will 'fix' it, but try stuffing it with some absorbent towel or tissue to absorb some liquid. You did the right thing to condition it! Now it needs to dry properly without sagging or, as you said, warping beyond repair.

As for the popped stitch - is it essential? Is the wallet ripped at the seams, draggling in two pieces? if it's not then don't worry about it - I have a popped stitch on my Chanel cardholder and it's totally fine, no effect to structure. again - pictures would be great!

The popped stitch is on the 3rd photo, Upper left I circled it. I was thinking of putting a little bit of super glue because I was able to push in the thread into the hole. I was wondering if the glue would keep it in there and just leave as is?

wow! it doesn't look bad at all - don't worry. condition it often for a few weeks so it doesn't get dry - other than that use it and it should be fine! as long as its fully dry then put a few cards in it to get the shape back

Yeah i'm letting it breath now, and condition it whenever it feels hard or stiff. It seems okay now actually. When it first got wet, I was worried about how stretched out it looked and all. Now it's pretty tight but it still looks warped on the bottom and all the wrinkles :( I guess it adds character and a funny story to tell lol

BUT, most of all, the popped stitch, I pushed the thread back in with a needle (looks like it ripped off the leather) and added a drop of super glue on the thread.... looks like nothing happened and it blended in so good like i'm so happy with it. I saw articles here saying to CUT the thread and I'm like wont it unravel?? Hell nah I had to get creative.

Hi, experts! I just dropped my Chanel caviar card holder in the pedicure bowl at the salon. I read this thread and I put a thin paper towel in each card slot. Since I purchased my card holder preloved, it was already a little bit stretched out. I am scared that it will stretch further and will not hold my cards anymore bc I am already careful not to overstuff, or that it will warp. I don't think the paper towel will be any thicker than a credit card, so you should be fine with that. Dependent on how wet it is, if you're going to need to change the paper towel, it might make more sense to use some muslin or calico instead - that way you would get bits of tissue potentially stuck on the inside as you swap it for a fresh piece. I don't think you want to keep the wet paper towel inside for too long.

Once it's almost dry, to try and stop it warping, I would keep my cards in it (or a piece of card the size of the slot) to try and prevent it being able to shrink in too far as it dries.

Just a wait and see I guess, though. Ugh. Not the most fun and relaxing pedicure for you!!

So after regular changing of the paper towels and drying out for a few days, I can’t even tell that this happened! I guess there’s something to be said for the durability of caviar leather I appreciate all of you on the forum here for your helpful comments!!

Hey there! My card holder that I left in my pants like a complete moron kind of warped, pretty much how yours looks like on the edges but the lining got ruined. Don’t do anything to it like leaving it out in the sun but definitely add some leather conditioner so the leather doesn’t dry out and those little moisture absorbing packets did help. Hopefully you let it air dry cause I think the leather cracked for others who ran into this issue. I used it for a while after that and as much as I hate resellers, I sold it on Fashionphile and they bought it for $250 because it didn’t really make me happy anymore. Luckily a pop up store arrived near my area and the store was STOCKED. I was able to get a replacement flap card holder in beige and I’m loving it
