Chanel Single Flap Jumbo 24K Gold Plated Hardware

I am looking to buy a pre-owned Chanel Single Flap Jumbo. How can I determine if the hardware is 24K gold plated or not? By certain first 2 prefix of serial number? Help. Thanks

There is a hallmark on the HW. Plus the Gold plating stopped somewhere in early -mid 2009, so anything before the very late 12 series.

Thanks for the response. I read online and some people think that the hallmark means that it is made in France and it doesn't guarantee that the hardware is 24k gold plated. That is why I am so confused.

You have to know the series it came out of to be sure. And, of course, people can change hardware on their bags, so you want to make sure that it has all original hardware before making a purchase.

Does all 11 series mean 24 gold plated hardware?
It sounds like some 12 series are 24 gold plated and some are not.

Yes 11 series should be plated, as I said change came toward the end of the 12 series. For example 09C which began November 2008 was plated and the Series was approx about from 124xxxxx to 126xxxxxx. I would say around April 2009 was when it was noticed there was no more hallmark.

I believe starting in 2009 all of the hardware was plated, so you'd need to find a vintage bag
