Hi everyone,
I looked but couldn't seem to find it, so if there's already a thread on this, my apologies. I was wondering if anyone could let me know what the different letters mean in the season codes. For example 21S, 21B, 21K and so fourth for example. Also if anyone knows how Chanel orders their collections usually and when they come out. TIA :)

Hi it can be confusing, so Chanel releases 6 collections per year roughly around these timelines:
C - Croisière (Cruise) in November of the previous year
P - Printemps (Spring or Spring/Summer Act 1) in January
S - Summer or Spring/Summer Act 2 in March
A - Métiers d’Art in May
B - Fall/Winter act 1 in July
K - Fall/Winter act 2 in September

Thank you! This is super helpful :)

Thank you! This is so enlightening. Does anyone know anything about how/when/if "A" stopped meaning "Fall/Winter"? For example, my vintage Chanel items from the Autumn/Winter collections were labeled "A" like "97A" or "08A", etc. and were definitely not Métiers d'Art and correspond to the Fall/Winter runway looks.

Is it possible that both Métiers d'Art and Fall/Winter were both labeled with "A" during the time when the clothing tags still had the seasons on it? For example, I have an item that appears on the 2005 Fall RTW runway show, but the tag on the label says 05A and not B or K.

Did they just move the "A" to mean Métiers d'Art only and not also Fall/Winter at some point? After Chanel stopped putting the seasons on the labels it has become more confusing:doh: But I've never encountered vintage Chanel labeled 08B for example, but of course my experience is limited:smile:
