Chanel Scratched Turnlock

Hi all!

I just got a my first WOC and I absolutely adore it. I took it out for its first spin and when I got home from my day I noticed that it had deep scratches on the turn lock. I have no idea where the scratches came from, as I am very careful with my bags Regardless, I’m wondering if anyone knows of ways to lessen the appearance, or if anyone has any idea how much a replacement turnlock would be at Chanel. I don’t have an SA anymore (I don’t shop at the store very often and the SA I had quit—I bought this bag while on a trip to Europe). I know the other option is to just deal with it, which will be the likely outcome, but I’d like to explore any other options as a way to get closure . In some lighting the scratches aren’t noticeable, but in others it’s so obvious and it’s makes me sad when I spent so much on it! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ❤️

Ask a leather surgeon.

If you want to change it you should do it sooner than later because that’s a seasonal turn lock. Chanel might not have the parts for that for very long. Someone mentioned the price for changing a turn lock on here once, just search it.

Please try to bring it to chanel, they may replace it for free under the warranty.

Thanks for the suggestion! I was able to get a hold of an SA who showed the pictures to their repair person at the store—they told me to just enjoy the bag and not replace the turnlock, as submitting for repair would take 6 months and it wouldn’t be covered either!

Update! I brought it to a different Chanel boutique and they were kind enough to submit it for repair at no additional cost! My bag was gone for about a little over 2 months and is back with me now! I’m so happy 🥹

I'm happy you got your bag repaired and that it came back so quickly!

The fact that these decisions are made by SAs rather than guided by official brand policy is so annoying to me, I can't!!! It's not ok that different stores give different responses. This should not be the experience shopping at luxury brands.
