Chanel or Cartier?

I have been saving up for my next big purchase and want to purchase either a Chanel classic flap or Cartier JUC when I travel to Europe this month (for the VAT refund). I will eventually get both down the line but not sure which one I should purchase first on this trip. I will get more use out of the JUC because I will wear it more often than I will carry the Chanel bag, but I feel like the prices of Chanel bags go up more often than Cartier prices so I should get the Chanel bag before another price increase. I can't decide...any suggestions appreciated!

I prefer to buy jewelry through the jeweler that I have a relationship with even though warranties are worldwide. I purchased a watch out of the country once and had an issue. Although it was taken care of under the warranty, I prefer the personal relationship I have with my jewelers. So I vote Chanel. When I got my boy in Paris this winter, the exchange rate and VAT made such a difference.

Agreed with above ^. I would go for the Chanel bag. When I looked at prices, it didn't seem as significant of a difference to buy Cartier in Europe as opposed to Chanel bag prices Euro v USD.

Yes you are right - the price difference for Chanel is a lot better. For Cartier it is really only tax free and a little extra. Thanks for the feedback
