Hi all, Has anyone purchases from APOSHMARKAFFAIR on poshmark before?

I purchased this MINI so black yesterday but found the exact photos on Fashionphile. I’m freaking out now. The bag is getting sent to get authenticated however I was reading more about how fakes get approved often. This is my first time buying a preloved bag so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Poshmark listing: https://posh.mk/QV9KRbQzNub

Fashionphile listing: https://www.fashionphile.com/p/chanel-lambskin-quilted-mini-rectangular-flap-so-black-1036347

I’ve never purchased designer bags through Poshmark for that reason. I strictly only purchase pre-loved mainly through FASHIONPHILE along with Rebag on the rare occasion. If it was me I would go to my purchases on my Poshmark account and report the issue to Poshmark support if too late to cancel and refund your order. Just let them know your questioning that the purchase you made with the Poshmark seller is truly authentic since you found the exact pictures of the bag in the listing on FASHIONPHILE itself for the same item and just make sure to provide them screenshots of both separate listings. There’s no denying that the photos used in the Poshmark listing are the exact ones from FASHIONPHILE. That mannequin pictured is a staple of every FASHIONPHILE listing I’ve seen in my many years of shopping with them. Hope this helps and good luck!

Thanks for your response Kristi!! I have escalated it to poshmark however they have not responded yet. I cant cancel the bag since it already has been shipped to get authentication. Seller is saying she posted the bag on several sites but now I’m finding that hard to believe but I wasn’t sure how fashionphile consignment works.

mxkristi’s suggestion is good. I have sold roughly 60 items on Poshmark and 20 to Fashionphile. The last two years Fashionphile just bought the item from me; it wasn’t through consignment. For Poshmark, you need to prove the items were misrepresented or not authentic.

I would recommend caution if the pictures are exactly the same. Poshmark is a selling platform like ebay where anyone can list their own items with the pictures they personally take. From my experience fashionphile is a company which they purchase the bags from the owner and then list themselves by taking their own pictures. It is not a selling platform like poshmark that people can just use their own pictures and list items. It is alarming to me the seller is claiming she is selling on fashionphile as well. If she sold the bag to fashionphile she would no longer have the bag. She could be listing the item for sale on other similar platforms like ebay and tradesy but not fashionphile and I feel like she might be trying to take advantage of the situation thinking you won't know how fashionphile works. I have seen fakes on poshmark in the past thats why i do not personally purchase luxury items there. Let us know how it goes.

It's interesting that they say they take all their own photos. All of their listings have different photographic styles, lighting, etc. You can tell they are all taken by different people and cameras (or in this case, taken off other websites).

They also said the serial number is inside. This bag has a microchip plate so no serial number sticker as they got rid of the serial number stickers in 2021.

Good luck! Poshmark should be able to support you. Keep us updated. Sorry this happened to you

Agree with this and also agree with the poster @VT Pooh who recommended contacting your CC.
I might purchase from fashionphile, AFF, Yoogis
i personally would not recommend buying from Facebook, instagram, poshmark, vestierre, TRR. ..
JMO though. And I am sorry this happened to you

Hope you are able to get this resolved. I believe you can reject if the item is not accurately represented. But I agree with you as they are clearly lying, as I haven't seen FP offer any consignment options in recent years.

You’re very welcome! I don’t know too much about FASHIONPHILE consignment but with what it shows on the FAQ on the website is that if the Poshmark seller did in fact consign the same bag that you bought in their listing with FASHIONPHILE they would have to cancel their consignment, pay any fees and then FASHIONPHILE would return the bag to them. The Poshmark seller wouldn’t physically have the bag when consigning an item with FASHIONPHILE. I did notice on the FASHIONPHILE listing the bag is located at their Flagship store in New York and the Poshmark seller is located in New York as well so I wonder if the seller posted the same bag even though they don’t physical have it since they maybe able to easily retrieve the item due to living in the same city. I would honestly bookmark and screenshot the listing and all the pictures from FASHIONPHILE that way you can check back on when the bag ships. If your order through Poshmark and it shows it’s been shipped but yet the FASHIONPHILE listing is still up I would be extremely worried. Also I would see if you can get the full authenticity code from the seller if you haven’t yet especially if they are saying it’s the same bag from the FASHIONPHILE listing. Hopefully if they tell you the serial number it matches the first part of the code on the FASHIONPHILE listing as well as the rest matching up to what they said it would be. If it matches the were telling the truth and did consign with them. I’m not sure if FASHIONPHILE will tell you the authenticity code since it seems to be cut off in the 7th photo in their listing but FASHIONPHILE does have it to where you can call them about an online listing if you weren’t sure about the photos, color, etc… of the item. You just need to make sure to know the location and the item number since they will ask for it. In regards to consigning with FASHIONPHILE I agree I don’t really see them advertise it when you sell them an item via the website but I did hear that it’s only offered for the more expensive bag models.

Thank you for all the info!! The Poshmark seller has blocked me from communicating with her. I’m still waiting for poshmark support to get back to me. I reached out to AMEX and they will be able to dispute the charge but I have to wait till the bag is in my possession. At this point even if the Poshmark says the bag is authentic I no longer want it as I can’t trust that it truly is!! I have screen recorded the fashionphile listing as well as all communication with the Poshmark seller. Thank you for being so kind & helpful to me!

Woah. Even if this really was her bag, She cannot sell her bag to Fashionphile and then sell on her own. Fashionphile has paid her out and she would have had to send them the bag for the listing to be up anyway, she would not even have it in her possession. I see above that someone already pointed this out.

Very concerning BUT I am glad you saw the pictures on FP and were alerted to the scam. You have the proof, so hopefully this will prevent a bad outcome. Best of luck to you in this getting resolved quickly.
