Hi,

I would love to have your opinion on the Chanel mini square in black coz I’m debating whether to get the new lambskin from the store now before the next price increase or buy a pre-loved one in caviar.

Actually I do prefer the caviar but I‘m unable to find one in the preloved market (I am in Paris). And even if it appears to be available, I’m not sure if I will have the courage to spend the huge amount of money for. The price is outrageous. Can anyone give me an advice on the wear and tear on the lambskin? I do pay attention to my bags but don’t want to worry much about when reaching for it.

Another question, someone can recommend an reliable reseller shop on IG in EU countries? I usually use the Vestiaire collective but find it limited regarding the choices on certain models.

i have a few reliable reseller shop on IG but not in EU countries but they do ship internationally :), if you are keen, i can PM you.

For me, i prefer caviar as it's more durable and i believe the value of it would increase in years to come, do you like the latest mini caviar with the top handle? the price is kinda reasonable which in fact cheaper than preloved mini rectangular if you are okay with mini rectangular..

i have one lambskin and the scratches are so obvious and i tend to pay more attention when i store them and use them. now i rarely use it anymore cause i prefer to bring my cavair out more..

Personally, I don't like the new caviar with handle as it does not have an option to take the strap off and I do prefer the square shape more. But I will check it out at the shop as well.

Your point on the price increase on the caviar pre-loved is right. Even we pay much more retail today, it's going to come along with Chanel price increase year on year lol.

Ps. I will pm you for the shop on IG. Thanks a lot

I have one mini square in lambskin and I love it! I can only see a few scratches on it, and they're not that visible. But I do only use the bag maybe once or twice a week? Most of the time it's in storage. But if you do prefer caviar over lambskin, I would get it in the caviar, even if it's preloved. It doesn't make sense to spend a lot on a bag if it's not the leather you wanted imo. Caviar is more durable but I like the look of the lambskin more. Hope that helps!

Go for what you love! Which reading your post is the caviar sq mini. I personally think vintage lamb is WAY more durable than the lamb of recent years. You will have to baby that bag and I think in the long run you will still probably dream of the caviar. I just received my red 17b caviar square mini after searching for it for over 3 years. It took awhile for me to decide on the perfect shade of Chanel red and I wanted a full set and in pristine condition so it took a little longer. I also almost jumped the gun and bought a black caviar instead, but I stayed patient. I've seen a few over the years, so I don't think you'll have as hard a time finding one, you just have to stay vigilant and be ready to jump on one when you see it. I do think this combo will be more "valuable" in the long run if you ever decide to resell it. The lamb won't be as easy because a lot of people are afraid of it and its harder to keep in pristine shape.

Also be careful of Vestiaire, I've heard quite a few horror stories about fakes on other large Chanel groups and here. Do your research with any reseller and be sure to get it authenticated. I went with an authenticator who also included a fair market value of my mini at the time of purchase which made me feel less queasy about the price—the seller was actually pricing it fair according to current market. Hopefully that will help ease your worries.

I went to the store to take a look at the lambskin mini today.
I don't hate it  ! The leather is delicate but luxurious. I love the overall look of the bag.
Of course, you have to take special care of it comparing to the caviar one.

I don't hate the lambskin look but just worry about how to keep it in the good condition in the long run.
Still debating!

Thank you for your advice on VC. I have a lot of questions regarding the LV shawls and headbands they are selling under the retail price. How could they do that? They are not from the old season. The same models are still available in the store and more expensive.

Having the same dilemma as you babe. I guess it depends on how comfortable you are getting a pre-loved from the second hand market. If you are, do your research. If you are not, you might have to compromise and consider getting the lambskin one unless you want to wait for the caviar one to make a comeback (which idk whether that will happen or not).

Hope this helps you :)

I would recommend brand new unless you are very comfortable with buying and authenticating pre loved. Buy pre loved if you want a particular style otherwise where possible new. Otherwise reputable dealers with robust return policy.

I've decided to go with the new one because I couldn't find the combo of the HW and leather I want. The price of the second-hand caviar mini is very high, not including the shipping and taxes I've to pay once the bag arrives. So overall is a very very high and premium price I cannot afford.

You are right I have to compromise with the delicateness of the leather but I've to say that the lambskin is beautiful and luxurious. I cannot stop touching it lol.

I decided to go with the new lambskin mini coz I cannot handle the premium price and time-consuming in doing all the needed research to find the caviar one.
