Chanel mini rectangle vs Hermes TPM

I’m assuming you mean the Hermes Evelyn TPM so I will proceed like it. I own both. And I love both. The Chanel mini fits not much. I can put my phone and card case (Hermes calvi) and a lipstick. With the TPM then I can fit all that and my key holder (LV 6ring key holder) and more.
I wouldn’t be able to pick one over the other since they are for different occasions. I love shortening the strap on the mini flap and carrying it handheld to more formal occasions. Whereas the Evelyn TPM, I cant really dress it up and use it for evening. That bag is more of a casual day bag.

I have both, and I can fit about the same amount (though I have a bag insert inside my TPM).
I don’t think you can compare these 2 bags as the style is very different. The TPM is very handy and casual, and I mainly use it during the daytime. The mini is probably the most versatile between the 2 as you can dress it down and wear it in the evening. The price difference between both is also something to think about.

I have the Evelyne TPM and the reissue mini and I use the Evelyne more so than the mini because I dress very casually when I go out. I do feel that the mini fits more than the Evelyne since I can even fit a point and shoot camera in the bag as well as my sunglasses. It will be hard to fit all of those in the Evelyne without it bulging out in the middle. I'll see if I can take a pic of how it fits side by side for you when I get home from work.
The TPM is more flexible in terms of squeezing in the items you want to carry but it won't be as secure as the mini. I tried to fit as much as I can in both, and due to the TPM flexibility, I can fit more in the TPM to my surprise. It did bulged out in the middle and over time, it will stretch the leather.
I only carry my YSL card holder, phone, and car key and I can see the TPM has stretched out in the middle. I often reach for my TPM as the mini is a tad too dressy for me since I'm usually in leggings and T-Shirt when I go out running errands.

It’s not as secure though, so smaller things have to be reined in, like keys and lippy
