Hello, is metallic bag like in silver color still popular? Does the metallic color rubs off easily on caviar leather? Is the leather durable? I am looking into a silver bag. Can a silver bag be versatile? Thanks

Iridescent and metallics do rub, they are much delicate leather than caviar. I feel delicate than Lambskin,
Metallics are neutrals and go with everything, especially silver (in my opinion). It can be a casual bag you wear during the day or an evening bag. I haven't had any issues with metallic leather rubbing or the finish coming off, and I have a lot of metallics.
I'm super biased but I love bright fun colors and my Chanel collection def gravites towards shiny/sparkly/neon/pop/metallic/embellishmembellished end...
I can't say I've really had any issues with my metallic Chanel pieces over the years but I also am mindful to not drag my bag against rough surfaces or dropping it on the floor or using them constantly all day long in extreme weather conditions...(I've really seen so many people just plop their nice bags under a table at restaurants and more power to them if they're ok with it haha but I'm a bit too ocd for that)...but with that said...I've gotten a lot better and I don't find myself surveying every inch of my bag each time etc...have to enjoy things in a balanced way
And I think whenever you do Gold/Silver/Bronze (metal colors) it can be pretty universal esp if your wardrobe has a good mix of colors...I wouldn't likely pair up metallic silver Chanel bag with metallic silver/gold clothing but it can work with a bunch of other colors like even Pastel pink or neon green I think ❤️...just have to try and be comfortable with it at the end of the day...sorry that was so long of a reply haha

Hi everyone, first post for me. Can anyone confirm if a black metallic reissue eventually ages into a dark gray hue? That’s actually something I can vibe with since it’s so hard to find a dark gray Chanel. And to confirm, it’s the metallic sheen that tends to peel off (for some, depending on use or year ~08) not the leather itself that cracks or peel, am I understanding that correctly? Many thanks for the insight!
I just purchased a 2014 Reissue 2.55 in the size 26. It aged calfskin leather and listed as gray. However, can you look at the pic of the bag and let me know is this just a plain gray aged calfskin leather or is this iridescent or even a slight metallic gray? Just curious. You can see there is slight wear on the flap corners. This makes me think if it was dyed gray, the gray color would still remain, it would just be scuffed right? Are metallic or iridescent Chanel bags sprayed with paint vs dye? Do you put leather conditioner on your metallics or iridescent Chanel bags? Thanks for your help!
