chanel long flap wallet owners, help!

hello!
i just signed up for the forum after being a follower of the blog for many years. pretty sure i'm posting this to the right place but if not, bear with me
i really want to a classic flap but can't afford it, so while browsing the chanel site, i came across the long flap wallet. it's almost the same exact size with a woc but less than half of the price and i like the look of the wallet better. i've seen people punch a hole through the long wallets to add straps, i'll try to figure out a less aggresive way to add a strap but pretty much i'm aiming to use it as a crossbody.
so my question to long flap wallet owners, do you ever use it as a clutch? and if so what fits? would it be a long stretch to use it a purse or is it roomier than it looks? and finally, if you're already using the wallet as a purse, are you happy with it and did you manage to add a strap? sorry if this was too long of a question

ok so to your questions. Yes a long wallet works well as a clutch. You can also buy a chain if needed to run inside the top flap to wear it as a crossbody.

and advice you didn’t ask for... if you want a classic flap, save and get what you really want. I have a long wallet and love it. It does not replace my classic handbags though. if you want a handbag, save a bit longer and get what you really want!

My advice is to save up for what you want if you can’t afford it right now. I understand wanting a certain brand but this is not the way to go.

I don’t think you’d be able to fit much besides cards/cash. Before I purchased my Yen Wallet I was thinking I’d use it as a clutch with my phone and maybe a chapstick. It just doesn’t fit that stuff. It’s not as wide as the WOC so it doesn’t fit as much. If I take my wallet out I have to carry that stuff separate. Best of luck.

You can do it and it’ll be yours in no time. Trust me, if you buy the wallet now you’ll still want the classic flap. Good luck!

Hi - I wanted to follow up on your post - what did you do in the end?

I really want the WOC but shocked at the £2k+ price, and the long flap wallet looks exactly the same. I was also thinking of just adding a chain myself.

hi! no i didn't end up getting it, i bought a super mini gucci dionysus which is as small as a woc but it's a bit thicker so it can fit my phone, wallet and lipstick. if you're looking for a woc that could fit a bit more and is more budget friendly, i suggest gucci's super minis. the super mini marmont is pretty similar to classic flap if you're into it?
