Chanel Inimitable Mascara-- what to use in place of this??

Maybelline for mascaras. I think the pink-and-green packaging one won global awards for best mascara for several years running and still sold today!

Maybelline shares the same R&D technology as Lancome so their mascaras are similar, just a lot more affordable.

Hmm. I know a lot of people like the Maybelline in the pink and green tube, but it gets terrible ratings on makeupalley.com. I go there all the time to check out new products before I buy. By the way, it would be really great if we could have a similar review area on TPF!

I like Maybeline Great Lash- pink tube- or Volume Express. I think Clinique's mascara is awful- it just clumps on me... Also, I've never really noticed any difference in mascara quality or results, other than if it clumps or irritates my eyes. Maybe I am not paying attention??!!

I absolutely love L'Oreal's Double Extend in carbon black. One end is a tube with a colorless thickener/lengthener, and the other is the mascara itself. It stays on all day, doesn't run or flake and is super easy to wash off at night...

I co-sign with L'Oreals:tup:. that is a great mascara. I also like DiorShow. I like the way the brush and how it really puts the black makeup on my eyelashes.

Thanks for all the help, I actually sent the Cover Girl one back and got the Maybelline one. I didn't use either one yet, haha. I heard all the good things about Maybelline and I figured that would be a good starting point. I got the one in the green tube, as it is known.

I am really curious how it will work, but I'd rather wait until I do my makeup in the morning than take it all off now. I will miss Chanel's Inimitable... so perfect... the brush on this Maybelline one looks a lot more like the Inimitable on the package, so hopefully it will work the same way.

Anyway I'll let you guys know how it's working for me.

Okay, I just put it on this morning (the Maybelline Define-A-Lash, in the green tube) and I really do like it a lot. It feels way different from the Chanel's Inimitable with the application but it has given me a TON more length and separation. I really like it. I don't know which one I like best, I think Chanel's wand is a lot easier to use because the Maybelline one is a bit wobbly in comparison, but I can control it still just as well if I try to. Maybelline is just as good but in a different way with the length it gives, that is the biggest plus.

I definitely recommend the Maybelline Define-A-Lash. It's roughly $10 which is perfect for what I wanted to do which was literally save $20 a tube!

I used to use only Dior, then tried Chanel because everyone raved about it. Chanel won out, but I picked up the new CG LashBlast at the supermarket on a whim, and I LOVE it. It beats both on my lashes, and keep them looking long and curled all day! Great buy!

Yes -- I said it was Cover Girl Define-a-Lash, but it's Maybelline. It works very well for me -- especially for lengthening. I like the fact that the lime green tube is easy to find in my makeup case.

I LOVE Chanel inimitable.

I honestly use all the Lancome sample mascaras I get when you order stuff and get the free goodies...I washed and dried one out, too, and use it to come through since my lash brush is disgusting and I had to throw it out.

The CG stuff was ok but I found that it flaked off easily. Maybelline is ok and you could even try max factor, they have one with a brush similar to inimitable.

There are always options!
