The Purse Hook comes in it's own velveteen pouch so the insides of your handbag are safe from scratches, as is the Purse Hook.
I had not thought about that reverse V effect...so far I've only used it on Chanel bags with chain handles and haven't had a problem. My small bags that I use just for dinner/nights out are rather light (since I can't fit much in them) so, so far, no problems with those types of bags either. IIRC, the Purse Hook brand's hook is sturdier and thicker than the other brands I've seen on the internet so this might help....kind of like a sturdy hanger vs a wire hanger. HTH's.

Loveshopping: I saw them at Chanel-Wynn on Sunday. It came in a pink lipstick and white lipstick. Very cute. The SA wasn't even sure what their purpose was - I had to tell her. 
I do have a few purse hooks - much cheaper than the Chanels. I have only used them in restaurants where you can't safely and or comfortably hang your purse on the chair. Make sure you get one that can accommodate a thicker table top. I haven't found that it scratches my bag.

CHANELboy doesn't have one in the store - should he get one he would post a picture....SO, does anyone have a picture of the Chanel handbag hanger....we want to see it.
I have used the cheap plastic ones in the casinos at Vegas and love them....don't want to sit my bag on the floor and the seats around the blackjack tables usually have someone sitting in them - so they serve a great purpose.....not like they will let you sit your bag on the blackjack tables.

I saw these!!!! At Chanel in Bellagio......one in red and one in pink. Have to say, I thought they looked a little on the cheap side, like something from a flea market, JMO.

I have a purse hanger like this... mine actually has a pattern on it... but the same otherwise! Got it on e-bay... recommended by another tpf'r. It folds up and fits in it's own little pouch - very compact!! It has a kind of cushion backing so it sort of "sticks" to the table -plus the handbag weight keeps it in place.
I'd LOVE to see the chanel one.. sounds cute!! I'm just not willing to pay too much for this sort of accessory!!
and... it didn't break the bank!!
