I would like to get a new bag as a push present gift. I'm debating between the Chanel GST or Hermes Evelyne III. I already have 3 Chanel bags but no Hermes. I like the idea of the cross body style of the Evelyne because I think it'll be useful for going around with my kids. The GST is such a beautiful bag but I know it's also heavy and am not sure I would use it as much but I love the look of it. Any advice is appreciated or any other suggestions as well- thanks!!

I think I may have asked the same or a similar question awhile back. I have owned a gst but not an Evelyne. My vote is hermes Evelyne. Crossbodys are the best with kids. You need a combination of crossbodys and large totes (Bigger then gst). Also, the front pocket looks great to drop keys and phone in. Good luck and best wishes.?

Thanks for the advice! I will search for your previous post!

Guess it depends on your style? I personally like the GST better. The Evelyne is definitely a more casual look and the crossbody is very easy. The GST comes off as dressier and fits a good amount, and is a shoulder bag, which is also not bad with kids.

You have great taste, love the look of both bags!
I think Evelyne would be more up your alley right now, as it's a handy design and more lightweight. Plus you can get the Evelyne in a whole heap of pretty, lively colors so it can easily serve as a great pop of color in your wardrobe.

Thanks everyone for the input! I think I will try to go to the boutiques one day this week to see them both in person. For anyone who has the Evelyne, what color did you get and how did it hold up? I'm thinking if I get it, I should get a darker color because I wouldn't want color transfer from jeans...

I have an Evelyne in Etoupe and it is very resistant to colour transfer plus it goes with practically everything and it works in every season. It's a great colour!

Go to the Hermès subforum .
Then to Hermès Clubhouse.
There is an "Ode to the Evelyne" thread and you'll get all the info you need on that bag[emoji7]

I vote for gold (it's more of a natural brown). Not gold at all! Mine is gold and goes with everything and no color transfer problems. Good luck deciding!
