I've had my eye on the Chanel fanny packs for the past two years. Is it a silly trend?
I haven't seen much posted on here about them or seen anyone that owns one. The price point isn't terrible for a Chanel bag, but it is very high for a fanny pack. Thoughts?

Hey there! :) I have this fanny pack & use it as a wallet for the most part in bigger bags/work tote & love to throw it over my shoulder for running quick errands & it's also great if you're sitting in a bar/club higher seat & slung over my thigh w/ the pack part hangin - I've gotten it soaking wet atleast 2x at baseball games & it looks as pretty as the day I bought it - I love that it's so casual & laid back-people do notice it's Chanel even with the simple hanging Double C zip & I've gotten several compliments on it - I don't think I've ever worn it around my waist but love the look of that too! I know there are a few more versions of fanny packs - which did you have in mind?

Hi I don't have the chanel fanny pack but I have the Gucci fanny pack and I too wear it across my shoulder. I get a lot of compliments and I think it's great for traveling. I also think that it looks really hip when it's worn across the shoulder :). I think you will enjoy it.

I was looking at this one from the Cuba collection. It's just normal quilted. Priced at $2,700.

Raffaluv: I almost bought that one when I came out. But decided to pass on t for the same doubt I have now.

Topglamchic: your Gucci is amazing. Maybe I'll looking to Gucci too

My SA has the black one on hold. And I've played with it so it fits the essentials I need for day to day. But something keeps holding me back. Not sure what it is though

I would love to see some mod shots of how it looks worn over the shoulder etc. I've been interested in the fanny pack too and knowing it's more versatile than just wearing on the waist is intriguing!

Paolosolano, Gucci has quite a few "belt bags and "fanny bags". But the real key is how to wear the fanny pack regardless of the brand. I'll post mod shots later this evening.

I bought th blue and the black "Zip and Carry" Act 1. I love them!!!!
I have arthritis and three bulging discs in my neck and I'm in constant pain. My single flap Jumbo and Gabrielle are not bad, but when I throw a fanny pack over my shoulder, there is no weight to it. The "Zip and Carry" fanny packs are larger, so they fit everything I put in a handbag with room to spare (wallet, reading glasses, two sets of keys, two Epi Pens, lip balm, two little containers w/ a couple of anti-histamine and Tylenol tablets, hand wipes and a small thing of tissue). I don't like a packed look, and they definitely don't have that look. They're still somewhat flat against my body so that I can wear them to the side.
Over the shoulder, the Fanny packs look like a handbag. They are absolutely weightless and you can change the drop lengths, if needed. We visited UCLA and Westwood. When I needed two hands and easy waist bag access, the fanny pack went around my waist.
Disneyland and the airport- the bag was around my waist w/o any concern about safety. When I travel to Europe again, I'm bringing a fanny pack. I can wear one under my wool pant coat. In New York- I'm going to wearing them when I take the subway.
Two drawbacks- (1) If you carry too much or heavy items, I'd be concerned about the leather belt strap part stretching around your waist. With all I carry, no stretching has occurred at all. (2) The "CC" zipper pull can catch on loose knit not-tight-fitting sweaters if worn around the waist. No problem if shoulder carried. I tend to wear mine w/ cotton shirts or tight knit sweaters.
I've carried them in pouring rain. I wiped them off when I got home and they still look new.

I've always liked fanny packs, even when people thought it was nerdy. Wear it, rock it and like me, you'll get compliments, too.

That's the exact one I wanted!! I waited too long and the black one sold. My SA is keeping an eye out for me. If you decide to get rid of the black one let me know! Lol

I've been wanting a fanny pack for the longest time, but I feel that they are crazy over-priced. It's almost sickening how much they go for when a few more hundred could get you a seasonal purse to put normal things inside. I've been looking out for a design that fits me--that I'm willing to "overpay" for, but so far I haven't seen any yet.
