Love your story and there should be more. I remember when I first thought about buying a Chanel flap. Like most ladies, I did my proper research on TPF and other forums. Funny thing was, I always find myself liking the photos where the M/L was worn more than the jumbo. However, when looking at the threads voting for the HG chanel flap size (you know the ones!!!) it's always like higher % of voters prefer the jumbo. What I didn't realize at the time, and I am sure a lot of new chanel buyers fall for the same, is that there are generally more people who carry lots with them. I sure used to. A jumbo would just be more practical for that. After all, isn't it better to have a bag that you "could" carry more if you need to?Hi everyone
Just wanted to share my story of getting my new Chanel "perfect for me" bag at long last!
Few years ago I bought my Chanel classic flap in the size jumbo in the cavier leather, thinking that that would be the perfect one for me but as time went on I started to feel frustrated with it and actually started to really, really dislike it.
Reasons being that it was so unbelievably shockingly heavy that my shoulder would ache. Then the straps would just not work on me. I am about 5'5 tall and if I doubled it I felt I would end up damaging it under my arms, if I wore it as a singe strap it would hang so low it would look silly. Then as i would walk it would just keep on hitting my legs - not the look I was after. After much thought I decided to sell my bag.
After some time and lots of research I decided to buy the boy Chanel as it was the complete opposite to the jumbo. I got it in lambskin and I completely love it. But I would still stare at the ladies who would wear the Chanel classic flap and I really started to miss the look of the classic flap.
I then started to really consider the medium size flap and did lots of research on YouTube. The ladies who have done reviews on the medium classic flap have done some brilliant reviews on it. I also realised that I don't actually carry that much so would not mind it being a smaller bag and the single strap looks great too! So I finally have my perfect Chanel bag.
I wanted to share this story because sometimes we might think that a bag is perfect because it's what everyone else seems to think or we think It looks amazing on someone else so would look great on us too but you really have to think about your own look, style, body, height etc.
I thought the jumbo would be amazing and never looked twice at the medium and now I am completely in love with it. I also feel like my collection is complete and have no desire for anything else! (Except slgs that would go perfectly inside the medium flap!)
Thanks for letting me share [emoji4]

Falling for Chanel (especially RTW) made me learn a valuable lesson... and it's this: Things look GREAT when they are tailored to fit you. Yes it's best if it's made of exquisite fabric too of course. however, even on cheap fabric like denim and polyester, comparing something that's made to fit your body compared to a generic size or a size too large - makes a HUGE difference. I now employ the same logic in EVERYTHING I buy. if clothing is 1 size too big and it's on sale, I still would not buy it no matter how tempting. why would I buy something that doesn't work for me? you wont buy shoes that are too big or too small and end up hurting you, why would you do that with clothing and a bag? they're meant to be worn to flatter you - for style wise. (of course I'm aware that clothing is to keep me warm and comfortable and such, but that's not what this rant is about )
so... I really like your perspective above. especially helpful for someone who's considering chanel bag the first time. I love your M/L. it's classic, elegant and simply perfect. though I wonder now that you find your perfect size, if you're really able to keep it at just 1
