Hi guys! In September 2022 I tried a seasonal mini flap from the 20c collection at the store. I liked the color of the bag, a true red, but still could not decide to buy the bag because of a special style. Unfortunately I could not find another bag in perfect red, so I was still searching. Almost 8 months later, a few days ago I was suggested exactly the same bag again at the store. I didn't know if I should laugh or cry. However the color of the bag seems to be a little bit different now. It is not as saturated as it was. I had the feeling as if the store sent it to the kind of a dry-cleaning. Due to some chemicals the color has lost the intensity. What do you think, could it be true, that Chanel send the bags from older collections in a kind of spa, renew them and then sell them again.

I am sure it is the same bag. I took photos last time. Both are from the 20c collection ( on the tag). Both are of the same style ( red mini with the round golden handle). Just the color is slightly different now.
My SA who had suggested me the bag in September 22 confirmed that it is the same bag and agreed that the color looks different now (A few days ago the bag was suggested to me by another SA). But neither of them could explain ( or didn't want to explain) how it could happen, that Chanel has been selling the same bag for 3 years..Where it has been all these months, because it was not at the store, since I offen asked for a small bag in red and there were no small bags in red at the store. Neither of them could answer what happed with the color.
Could it have been in the window display and faded from the sun ir tanned? Be weird to be the same all over though
I was wondering if the color faded, or if it is from the same season but maybe a different dye lot that didn't take the color as well?
I know for a fact Bergdorf sold someone a 10+ year old Classic flap for the current price within the last 2-3 years, so not uncommon to sell very old, old inventory or returns.
