Hi Everyone!!

Lately, I've been looking at this style and wondered why are there not much active postings about this one?
I particularly like the combi in 19B (black body w/ black or iridescent body w/ black).
Those in cruise are definitely too casual for my liking.
It's quite costly as well. More than a typical Coco Handle. Maybe $300 lesser than a small classic flap.

What you guys feel about this style?
Why doesn't it not get the Love as much as they rest of the styles?
Even a bucket bag gets more than attention this.

Appreciate if anyone can chime in their thoughts.

I don't like the style of this bag. It's also not very popular on here. It does not reach the 'will I still want to wear this bag in 10 years?' threshold for me. It's a question I ask about every bag purchase now after buying a couple of bags that now sit idly in my wardrobe. I know though we all have different tastes and if you will love and use, you shd get it.

Hi, I love this bag.

I had been eyeing the 31 bag since they came out in Fall 2018, but sizes were too big for me. Then I saw a smaller version in 19C but I wasn’t fond about the silver colour and round-shaped base. Finally they released the small size in the original 31 shape for 19B. I jumped on the all black version as soon as it came out on the launch day coz there’s only 1 for this combo in the whole city.

I did a reveal in July. Link as below:

I absolutely love this bag. It’s easy to carry and fits a lot. It matches lots of different outfits. I have been using it a lot.

I personally don’t think you’ll be tired of this bag. The 31 bag was originally designed by Coco herself. There are lots of vintage 31 bags in the market.

Most importantly, the bag itself is in simple design with all the classic elements ( black quilted + silver hardware + classic woven chain ). There’s no fancy trendy details on this bag that you probably will be tired of at all if you know what I mean

If you love it, go for it. It’s a very fun and unique bag in a classic design.

I totally get what you mean.
some looks good at the store, but once you bring it home, you start to wonder....
buyer's remorse. I get that most of the time.

How much did you pay for it .. roughly?
coz we dont have this size in my local stores and the bigger one really do cost quite a bit.
My only concern is, it might get heavy and uncomfortable on the top handles won't it?
I dont foresee myself carrying it on the shoulders.
I prefer my bags handheld more than shoulder. ( although i always preferred a shoulder option for "just incase" )

I once owned the vintage version of this bag. It looks(ed) identical but didn't fold down. I liked mine and kept it for years - using it mostly as crossbody and the top handle was very functional. It's not a popular style but if it works for you that is all that matters. It won't be good for resale and holding value, but if you can see yourself using it and loving it, then decide for yourself and not based on popularity. Maybe a good item to buy preloved and save a bit?

Hi, the price of the small size ( the one I bought ) is around $300 less than the bigger size if I remember correctly. Yes, 31 bag is a bit pricy. I remember I was surprised to see the prices when they first came out in 2018 F/W collection.

As for the top handle, I agree with @ccbaggirl89 that it was very functional and I personally find it comfortable to hand carry.

I saw someone modeling the small size as a clutch on IG and it looks very chic.

It really depends on personal preferences when buying the bags. For example I never find the Gabby to be appealing to me.

I also agree with @ccbaggirl89 that you should buy what you love and see yourself using it, NOT based on popularity of the bag.

Interesting thing was, the bag was there all these while on the shelves and nobody ever touched or play ard with it.
While i was chatting with my SA, she kinda introduced this 31 Bag to me.

I tried it on, and thought "yeah why not..i'm kinda tired of the usual CCH/BA/Flaps etc " .
BUT... when i saw the price.. i was like.. "WHAT!!" I mean, if its any cheaper about the range of a typical BA or CCH, i'll probably have bought it by now.

Not sure why, but from where I am, there's no sign of a pre-loved 31 bag.
Seems like there isn't a market for it.

I'm not really buying the bag to sell it eventually, generally, Chanel bags these days dont really hold its value.
Honestly, i bought the small iridescent flap from 19s.
I haven got much use for it, thought of trying to sell.
But.. the resale value of that, is lower than i thought.
I dont need to make a profit. Just didnt expect that the market demand of it is priced lower that expected.

you know.. i would say... it's a bag i dont have to 'baby' it.
I do see myself using it.
but the price point.. is it justifiable?
yet .. there's no preloved ones available anywhere in my country.
Not even from the reseller stores.

Hi, I think if you love it and see yourself using it, then it is worth the price ( cost per wear ).

I am not trying to enable you:P, but I have been using this bag a lot this summer. I find the 31 bag to be very versatile and carefree thanks to the calfskin. Easy to just grab and go. I even used it today ( carried it to my local Chanel store today to see the new launch of 19K ). It’s a bag that you don’t see everyone has.

Maybe try it on a few more times to see if you really love it. :hbeat:
