Chanel 24K VS 18K Gold Hardware

Hi
I have series 5 classic flap which is rich gold so I think that is 24K gold hardware. I have series 10 mini square and it is not as gold.
Question 1: Is series 10 18K or 14K gold?
Question 2: When did Chanel stop 24k and change to 18K or 14K? What series?

Series 12 is the last so that’s year 2008. If it’s 24k there’s always a hallmark on the CC logo. If no hallmark then it is not 24k.

The hardware of the older bags are not solid 24K gold by the way - however, they are plated.

If it were solid gold, the prices of the older bags would be much higher than the current price of Chanel bags lol.

The hardware of the “newer” bags are not plated, they are just… metal.

Both series 5 and series 10 have the hallmark on the CC but I don't believe they are both 24 gold plated. I was told at some point after series 5, Chanel stopped 24k gold and it was perhaps 18K gold plated. I can definitely see the difference in the gold in these 2 bags. I assume they stopped 24K gold in either series 9 or 10. I don't own series 9 to verify this. I do have series 7 and that is definitely 24k gold plated.
The question is can someone tell me if series 9 is 24k or 18K?

I have a series 12 and it’s definitely 24k gold plated.

that is not true.

classic flaps etc are STILL gold plated these days but with a very thin gold. I was told so by numerous SAs who laughed and said if this was just plain brass or metal they could never justify this price and it would rub off within half a year. So: still gold just super thin.

Wrong. The hardwares are no longer gold plated. They pivoted from gold plated to gold TONED around 2008.

Aside from this one from 2007 with solid gold hardware (original msrp of 261000 USD). The others are plated though as you mentioned!
