I just saw on Instagram that possibly some chanel bags will receive new turnlock? Please see attached foto. There is CHANEL mini rectangular top handle in so black and it has new hardware turnlock! I am very curious which bags will receive this update. Or maybe only so black versions due to scratching on the turnlock is more visible on black? Any thoughts or information? Thanks a lot ❤️

Interesting, thanks for sharing! While this makes sense to reduce scratching on So Black, I don't love this new lock and would not purchase a bag with it. Curious how others feel about it!
Same. It looks so clunky. If scratching is an issue then the hardware should be made out of black metal instead of coated. That would solve the issue?
I'm confused. Is it magnetic? It doesn't look good to me.
I’ve been to my store yesterday and they had at least 4 of those bags. It’s not a magnet, it’s a turn lock mechanism. You just have to insert the top bit into the hole at the bottom part and then turn.
I wonder what the top bit looks like and if we'll start to see complaints of it scratching the leather. If you're not paying attention or in a rush trying to close the bag, could do some damage to the leather which is a harder problem to solve.
You are totally right, I can see it happening.. although it closed really easily when I tried it, even though it was empty. Plus I didn't really like the look of this closure, I much prefer the normal/classic turn lock.
Hope they don't roll this out across all bags bc then I would stop buying until they brought back the turn lock 😅 The 4 you saw were all SO Black?
